What a wonderful day we had! I was initially very apprehensive about having a party on September 11th, but what a wonderful day it turned out to be!!! We had a memorial candle lit in remembrance of 9/11, and everyone thought it was the perfect way to honor the day. I have a family of firefighters and police officers who all lost many friends 3 years ago, and each and every one said how nice to was to celebrate in the joy and hope of the future while remembering the monumental tragedy of the past.
The party was held at the Pavilion at Sunken Meadow State Park (a Lessing's facility) and despite some troubles and miscommunications leading up to the event, everything turned out beautifully!!!! Lessing's girls ... regardless of which site you're using, you have NOTHING to fear. The food and service were outstanding. And everyone commented on how wondeful everything was from top to bottom.
The weather was also amazing, which helped immensely. The LI Sound and an awesome sunset made for a beautiful backdrop, and overall we could not have asked for a more perfect day!
I am so blessed to have been given an e-party that I would have been happy and proud to have had as a wedding!!! It was truly that spectacular. I have to say though, that having 100 people in one place supporting us is what made it perfect. It reminded me that as important to me as it is to me to have the the perfect dress or to get the best flowers, the most important thing is the union of two souls and the support and love of family and friends. :)
Thanks for letting me share! Here's hoping the photo link works! :)

Re: My engagement party was this weekend!!!
Wow what a great place. You and your FH look so great and sweet together. I cannot get over the sunset in those pictures. The centerpieces are great and that cake is AMAZING. It looks like it could have been a small wedding with all of the special details. Glad you had a great time.
