MY EXPERIECE WITH CHRISTOPHER JON SALON IN SAYVILLE
Hello ladies,
My mother has been a client at this salon for over 10 years. I live in Brooklyn but my wedding is in Long Island so of course I used her salon without hesitation.
Big Mistake!
The first clue to why I should have never booked with them was when my sister got married last year. She booked a certain stylist months before the wedding only to have her back out a few weeks before the event because she decided to go on vacation.
Next they recently lost their receptionist because he was stealing from the business and the customers. They also just lost a colorist stating that she had an 'attitude problem'. She was actually one of the only girls in the shop that DIDN'T have an attitude.
My second clue was when I called a few weeks ago to book my trial appointment. The new receptionist was a complete ***** and told me my wedding day hair appointment was scheduled with someone I never heard of. I said no I think you're mistaken please check again. She said no I'm sorry that stylist doesn't work on that day. We went back and forth for a while and then she put me on hold for several minutes. When she came back she said, oh I'm sorry you were right. She put me on the phone with my stylist so I could discuss the updo I wanted. When I told her I what style I wanted, she said 'Ew you're doing THAAT?' All snotty. I hung up and called my mom. I told her Mom if you weren't a long standing client at this salon I would cancel the entire wedding appointment TODAY.
However I am completely not a high maintenance bride so I said ok no big deal let's just move on.
The final straw happened this past week. My mom was in the shop for her regularly scheduled appointment when the owner of the company, Olga, came over to talk to her about the wedding day schedule. She says, ok now I am doing the girls makeup. My mom said, No we booked Janine for the girls makeup. We love her and that's who we booked months ago. Olga said, oh no i'm sorry but Janine is way to valuable to us in the color department. (Meanwhile makeup costs $100 per person for a half hour so how can coloring be more valuable than that!?) Then she proceeded to tell my Mom that she had to put down a deposit of 50% today and that the entire event needed to be paid in full by August 1st. I have never heard of such a thing in my life and you think they would give a break to their loyal customers. Anyway it was a big scene in the middle of the shop as my Mom is sitting in the chair with color in her hair! She called me at work on Friday to tell me the story. I said Mom there is NO way I am using this salon for the biggest event of my life.
I immediately hung up and called Industry 80 in Patchogue. The owner Gino spoke with me and could not have been sweeter or more accommodating. He arranged the entire morning on such short notice to take care of me, the bridal party and the moms! 8 people in total. He booked 4 stylists and a makeup artist and said he could open the shop early if need be. Their prices are even better than Christopher Jon's as well!
Christopher Jon Salon is completely unprofessional and has ZERO customer service. I would never recommend them to anyone.
Thank you for listening ladies. I know everyone has a different experience at different places. This is just MY experience and I thought I should share it with my fellow LI brides.
Good luck and Best wishes to all of you!
