my f-ing family

my f-ing family

This post is all about drama so if your not up for that... I suggest not reading any further... But, if you are interested, while its long, I will promise you that it will be a shocking read....
But anyway, I had hip surgery two and a half weeks ago and am still on crutches which pretty much makes it impossible for me to do anything on my own. I spent the first week with Fh who flew home from Texas to take care of me (he is there for work), the second week with my FMIL and FFIL, and the third week was supposed to be with my parents and sisters.
Well, FMIL dropped me off at my parents house, went to get her hair done, and then was going to bring me back to my apt to get my things for the week at my parents. In the short period I was home, my middle sister (3 of them) refused to get out of bed (at 2 in the afternoon) to come upstairs and help me get dressed after the shower. Then FMIL came back but I couldn't leave bc my computer was locked in my mothers room and she was showering. She had to wait and none of my sisters (or middle sister bf) came out to say hello to her. Then middle sister dropped ice cream on the floor in front of where I needed to walk through (um I can slip?) and refused to pick it up even though I nicely asked her 3x. She even tried rubbing into the wood floor with her shoe. Then 56 year old FMIL carries ALL of my things to the car and my older sister only helps when I ask her to. She only said bye to me and not FMIL. After that, I thought I left my cell phone in the house. I called from the car and youngest sister answers the phone. I asked her if she could check around to see if my cell phone was there and her response was, 'Here, the call is for you' and hands it to my oldest sister instead of helping me. I explain the whole thing again to the oldest sister who says, 'No. I don't want to look for it. I hate looking for things.' At this point, I'm about to go inside and look for it myself but FMIL doesn't want me to go up the stairs again on crutches. She goes inside and looks for it and my mom tells my sisters to help and they refuse and my older sister actually says, 'I was going to but she was rude to me (all I said to her was thanks a lot kristen in a snotty voice which I think was warranted).
The worst part is later that night I got an e-mail from my mom saying we all (including me who did nothing) need to work on how we treat one another and we have to look at what part we have in things. I e-mailed my mom back the entire story giving her the benefit of the doubt about not understanding what happened and she writes back the same message as the first time and basically tells me to stop acting like a victim (she used that word).
They make me sick and piss me off. Oh and my 3 sisters made a huge scene when my BM were trying to plan my bachelorette party. They flipped out about the cost (which might be like 150-200 a girl) when meanwhile they are not paying for dress, hair, make up, wedding gift, anything. The comprimise they made with me was they will spend that on my bachelorette but that is all they will spend on my wedding. They can't afford to give me a gift for wedding or shower thats all they will spend. For two of them I can see this and I understand it, but I just found out the youngest has 5,000 in the bank that she is saving for college and that she just spend 85 dollars going to a hypnotist to see if they could keep her from being shy (which she isn't). BRATS.

Re: my f-ing family

i forgot to mention that the oldest is 29, the middle one is 22, and the youngest is 18... clearly old enough to know better. I'm most angry at my mom.
Here is the second e-mail she sent me after I explained the whole scenario (In which I swear I did not say or do anything back... I would have been mortified to because FMIL was there... But she said I should have after the fact!)
Email:
I do not need an account of she said I said she did I did
Again ALL of US need lessons in PATIENCE, MUTUAL RESPECT and BOUNDARIES
WE ALL need to reflect on how we may not have honored basic rules of respect and boundaries yesterday and before
That's all I have to say
If you do not agree ,fine I am not going to push my opinions or views. That is how I personally feel
Reflecting on how we can personally change to make things better is better than feeling like we were victimized, in my personal view

Im so sorry, really I tired hard to think of something to say to make you feel better but all I can think of is

do you still live with your family? I can understand how the 18yr may not be able to afford anything but I have to say I have been in weddings since i was 20 and I have shelled out alot of cash .. but then again I have been working since I was 12 and had 3 jobs at the same time while I put myself thru college so maybe I see it a little differently lol

No I live with my fh in the apartment we own... thank god!!! But the youngest sister is the one who has the 5 grand and obviously spends money on dumb things like hypnotists. She's just selfish. The oldest is 29 but due to personal issues had to move home with parents and is trying to save money to go to grad school so I get that. The middle is in college. I'm only annoyed at the youngest about the money. I'm more annoyed about the general rudeness.

I'm actually not upset anymore... I'm almost just so used this behavior. But I am nervous about how they are going to behave on my wedding day and I really don't want to deal with them being like this forever.... I'm fed up not upset.

My sentiments EXACTLY!

I also feel as though they will learn when it's their turn to need help from anyone. Not only that but they will see what it's like when they are planning their weddings. Hopefully they learn their lesson at that point, AT LEAST!

I sorry!

WOW!!!! I am so sorry to hear you are going through this, it's really all I can say. At the very least, FIL'S seem like they're taking very good care of you and that's something to hold on to. I say give it a little distance between them for a while, and don't let them stress you out more..... is all I can say....sending hugs your way

I'm sorry you're going through this. If it makes you feel any better, my siblings are deadheads also (the 4 of them)

Re: my f-ing family

FILs are very supportive but on the other hand, FMIL gets annoyed at my sibilings and that makes me stressed because i would rather pretend everything was normal. I've always dealt with my sisters and parents and always get annoyed but I don't really like other people to notice it...

Families can be brutal...I know from experience. Maybe you have to stop the drama by cutting it out of your life. It might be a healthier way of dealing with it-it seems everything else turns into a confrontation.

Wow. At least you're fortunate to have a good FMIL, from what it seems. Craziness!

Re: my f-ing family

So now my middle sister texts me this (4 days later):

(Here boyfriend's name) is bored so I suggested he hang out with you and he says what would we do besides me being her servant

That was the boyfriend who was over the house that day. She's at school and he is home from school with nothing to do incase that text made no sense to you.

I wrote back that:
That's nice. Clearly you have no remorse for the way you acted last week and think thats acceptable behavior. Do me a favor and leave me alone until you want to treat me with some respect.

I know thats harsh but I really just thought it was deserved.

She writes back:
You are so rediculously insanely self centered it cracks me up. Have a great week KT.

I know i just kept it going with the text but I'm always forced to drop things with them and they never allow me to be mad. Its like I just have to accept how they act or I make a big stink out of it and everyone ends up mad at me anyway. DRAMA.
