So i just went to apply for the show...cause you know, hey why not! And they only want people who are getting married on certain dates! One...my wedding is three years away and all i know is that i want an Oct wedding (there are 3 dates in march and 2 in april that they are looking for).... and two...that stinks!!! I was hoping you just submitt the application and then they choose you and you work around the brides schedule!

Na....not worth changing the date for a 'maybe'. There is no way i can plan and afford the wedding i want anytime sooner than 3 years from now.
Plus, i LOVE oct and i really want my wedding then. March and April have too many allergens and i would just be sneezing the entire time lol

No, it's not. This season had mostly CA brides but the first season was mostly NY brides. I think there was a random Texan in there, too!
ETA: You can always reapply closer to your date. The whole show wouldn't make SENSE if they took on weddings that are 3 years out. The point is to CHANGE everything you've already planned. If you knew 3 years in advance that they were gonna change everything, you'd book the cheapest stuff to save cash!

yes, i'm aware of where the brides are from and he is even based in NY, BUT it blatantly says on the casting page of what they are looking for NOW are los angeles brides

They won't pick your date... until your about 3 months out from your wedding. Right now they are looking for brides who are getting married in October/November/December.
They do help you plan your dream wedding- it's meant for brides who couldn't afford to have their dream wedding but went ahead with whatever they could. David Tutera comes in and 'upgrades' everything to match their vision, but yes, they do change just about everything.
ETA: This is only the 2nd season of the show airing.
