My father had rotator cuff surgery in February during which they also repaired a tear in his bicep. Long story short, during the rehab / PT, he reinjured the rotator cuff.
He finally demanded a new MRI and found out the rotator cuff is completely torn again. All of the stitches the doc put in were pulled out. The surgery and recovery were very painful and now he's back to being in pain all the time. He is getting a second opinion and a new surgeon / PT team for the second surgery... He's trying to get the surgery scheduled ASAP - my wedding is in less than 3 months!
Please he's recovered fully by the wedding. It would really bug him to not be 100% (or at least close!) by the wedding. His arm will be bandaged to his body for a longer time this time and he'll spend a lot more time in a sling. It's his right arm and he's right handed. Needless to say, what should have been 8 weeks to recovery has now turned into a guaranteed 6-8 month recovery between the two surgeries. He's in good spirits, but frustrated to say the least.
Sorry, just had to vent for him. I feel so bad and wish there were something I could do.

I hope he feels better soon! I had rotator cuff surgery about a year and a half ago, and my doctor/surgeon was great, in Manhattan at the Hospital for Special Surgery, if you want his contact info, FM me.

Sorry. I agree with above: try HSS if your insurance will cover it. They can at the least do a block & provide him with better pain control.
