i'm a big bway fan with a lot of theater background and it dawned on me that it would be cool (and different) to incorporate that into my wedding.
So, I thought of the love song, Sun & Moon from Miss Saigon, but I don't know where to place it (ie - cake cutting). What do you guys think? It's a ballad with very sweet lyrics.

I like the idea, and it adds more of your personality to the wedding.. i love the song ALL I ASK OF YOU from Phantom of the Opera. I think those words are good as well.

You could just make sure you had it played--I did that with two of my all time favs and everyone knew when they came on, one --DH and I were only ones dancing, the other, it was me and my girlfriends

Re: my fave song
Here are the lyrics:
You are sunlight and I moon Joined by the gods of fortune Midnight and high noon Sharing the sky We have been blessed, you and I
[CHRIS] You are here like a mystery I'm from a world that's so different From all that you are How in the light of one night Did we come so far?
[KIM] Outside day starts to dawn
[CHRIS] Your moon still floats on high
[KIM] The birds awake
[CHRIS] The stars shine too
[KIM] My hands still shake
[CHRIS] I reach for you
[BOTH] And we meet in the sky!
[KIM] You are sunlight and I moon Joined here Bright'ning the sky With the flame Of love
[BOTH] Made of Sunlight Moonlight

I'm stuck between that or From this Moment... I really like both.. I think having All I ask of you is more original than From this Moment.. but when i heard it after we got engaged i started crying picturing it.. so i'm partial to Shania.

Re: my fave song
oy! just spoke to my band person -- if i want miss saigon then he needs to play a CD. IMO, that doesn't go if I'm having a band for the rest of time. oh well.

that really *****....my band will learn any song I want that they don't know...yours should too - I'm sure you're paying them more than enough!!! I would tell them that it's just one song - why can't they learn it???
I know the song (Sun and Moon) very well...LOVE Miss Saigon....I think it's one of the most beautiful songs ever...you should definitely use it if you like it that much!
My FH and I are big 'RENTheads' - HUGE Rent fans....I want to use 'I'll Cover You' for something... Here are the lyrics:
Musical: Rent Song: I'll Cover You
(Angel) Live in my house I'll be your shelter Just pay me back With one thousand kisses Be my lover - I'll cover you
(Collins) Open your door I'll be your tenant Don't got much baggage To lay at your feet But sweet kisses I've got to spare I'll be there - I'll cover you
(Both) I think they meant it When they said you can't buy love Now I know you can rent it A new lease you are, my love, On life - be my life
Just slip me on I'll be your tenant Wherever - whatever - I'll be your coat
(Angel) You'll be my king And I'll be your castle
(Collins) No you'll be my queen And I'll be your moat
(Both) I think they meant it When they said you can't buy love Now I know you can rent it A new lease you are, my love, On life - all my life
I've longed to discover Something as true as this is
(Collins) (Angel) So with a thousand sweet kisses If you're cold I'll cover you And you're lonely With a thousand sweet kisses I'll cover you You've got one nickel only With a thousand sweet kisses I'll cover you When you're worn out and tired With a thousand sweet kisses I'll cover you When your heart has expired
(Both) Oh lover I'll cover you Oh lover I'll cover you

Oh I love I'll Cover You!!!!!!!!!!
Is the reason he won't play the song that he doesn't have enough singers? I don't understand why any band would refuse to increase their repetoire.
