My FH jipped me VENT

Yesterday was our 5yr anniversary and I think i got jipped.

Thurs nite for our anniversary I took FH to a play and dinner. When the bill came he paid saying that it was his part of the anniversay outing. That was nice but it was my idea I would pay.
He didnt put any thought into celebrating. Last night I didnt see him and I left a mushy card for him.. Today Not one word about it he didnt even mention it until I asked if he got it. I thought for sure I would get at least a card.. Nothing Nada Zip ziltch, Now Im thinking thats it?? This is my life to be??

We went to Vegas for our 5 year anniv (and promised not to elope)

I talked FH into it the week before, and convinced him to take Friday off of work (it was Labor Day weekend, so we were both off Monday)

I paid for both of our airfare/hotel because I had $$$ and he couldn't afford to go otherwise. Maybe he'll pay me back, maybe not. It will all be our money in ~ 6 months anyway.

I'm sure your FH didn't think you'd be upset -- but you should tell him, so he knows for next time. You're not wrong here, but I don't think you should be mad at him too long because he's prob just oblivious

Yea I doubt it was intentionally....guys can be so lazy and insensitive. I'd definitely let him know....nothing works as good as a little guilt.

Guys don't always realize what they are doing. i would def. say something and then let it go. I'm sure he did not mean to hurt your feelings.
On my one year anniversary I got FH a card and a small gift and I got nothing. Later that night he felt bad and hand wrote me a card he said that he did not realize that it we were doing that and he felt really bad.
Im sure if you tell your FH he will feel bad also.

Tell him you are upset about it. Sometimes men have NO clue tht its supposed to be celebrated.

My FH is off the hook b/c we dont even do anniversary celebrations anymore w/ the wedding coming- but we will say 'oh yeah- its been 6 years' -haha

I told him that it would have been nice to have gotten a card. I think he got the picture.. Now I think he feels bad
