Last night I went to try on dresses. Took some pics on my phone, and when i got home I showed my FH one of the pics. I'm ready hear 'honey you look great!' Because I do not normally wear any type of dress. But, nooooo, why would he give me a compliment? Why would he not say 'wow this is how you look in a dress?' Get this, the words that actually came out of his stupid mouth was 'You're going with a formal dress?'
See, we are having a beach themed wedding, ceremony at Lands End, and the dresses I thought I would look good in, absolutely looked terrible! The dresses were a bit less formal, but still a wedding dress. So last night I try on these pretty dresses, and really like one. ARGH!!!

:( sorry girl... guys say the silliest thing sometimes... I think it should matter what he thinks but maybe he was just caught off guard... Tell him how you felt in the wedding dress, maybe he will come around..

oh no!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm so sorry he said i insensitive comments about your dress selections... i'm sur eyour going to look beautiful on your wedding day no matter what you pick out! maybe he just thought you were going to go a much less formal route in regards to your ensambe that day

I did the same thing, my FH goes OMG please tell me you're kidding, that dress is horrrrrrible!
none the less, I stopped showing him but it definitely affected my dress shopping
im still not sure about my dress(didnt buy it yet), bc I know if FH saw it on the hanger he'd hate it
ETA: dont worry about FH...on the day of the wedding, it will all come together and he will think you look beautiful!

Aww im sure your going to look amazing. Heres a story to cheer you up...My FH was looking at a bridal magazine and my actual dress he looked at and said it was ugly! of course i couldn't react b/c i didn't want him to know thats my dress but i told his mom and she said the dress will not matter the day of the wedding its the way YOU look in the dress that is going to be what he remembers and i think that was the best advice ever!

SOrry to hear that. They really need to think before they talk. I wouldn't worry too much though because I feel like a dress looks so different in person. I went dress shopping and everyone with me absolutely loved the dress and I showed picture to my sister and she was like really... I think it looks better in person.

I don't think it's the dress that didn't look good, it's the fact that it's a nicer dress than what I have been looking at. I have been cutting lace type dresses out, and this one is not lace at all. The first one is the type I was looking for, and the second one is a Sophia Tolli Heather. Now, I do not think this is THE dress but who knows.
