My FIL's are driving me nuts!!

My FH's is the youngest of 3 and his parents are older, and his mom never drove and his dad no longer drives. So we've been trying to figure out how to get them to the ceremony and reception. We figured his 2 sisters would handle it and arrange a limo so it was one less thing for us to take care of and pay for. Since his parents/family are contributing absolutely nothing at all. So we figured the transportation would be no big deal......

WRONG!! His one sister doesn't want to drive at all and would rather have the other sister drive everyone in her car. But her car only fits 5 and they need room for 6!!!!! So they are planning to go together and leave the parents to fend for themself. UGH!!

The one sister feels it's enough that she is taking their mom for hair and make-up. Why should she have to worry about how the parents get to the wedding?? I don't know they are only the parents!! So they'll be all dressed up and nowhere to go

What is wrong with people? Any suggestions?

i hate to say this (even those i agree with you - FSILs should help out!) but you might have to just rent a car/limo for them...

maybe a rolls or something less expensive than a limo?

I know I have that feeling too I suggested the sisters just rent a full-size SUV then everyone can fit and be in one car. I just hate to spend more $$. My parents aren't even getting a car and off all people they should since they have gone above and beyond in helping us out with EVERYTHING. The other option might be to get a town car for the parents. I don't want anything bigger -- then they might invite themselves to drive in it too.

It's just so frustrating.

More than anything I am so disappointed in the sisters for not helping. If it were my brother I'd do anything for him. I just don't get it. I guess I never will.

I totally know what you are going through right now…..Fh is the youngest of 3 (2 older sisters with kids) They both have room in their cars to pick up the parents and bring them to RH and church since FH’s nephews/nieces are in the BP. Every time we see his parents they ask …how are we getting there???
So I have come to the conclusion that I will get a town car to pick up FH’s parents bring them to the church, from the church to reception they can hitch a ride with someone and then from reception to home FH and I have a limo for both sets of parents.
My parents aren’t even bothering me about how they are getting from the church to reception so why are the FIL’s!!
I feel you aggravation!!!!

FH's parents live in Vally Stream and we now have an apartment in E. Northport. So he'll be getting ready there and I'll be getting ready at my parents house in Saint James -- our Ceremony is in Saint James and the reception in Port Jefferson.

So you guys can see my dilemma -- with the distance and the cost of the limos on that end. But his sisters live closeby so it would just be the easiet thing for them to take care of it.

I know my parents aren't not worried at all -- they are probably taking their own car or going with my aunt and uncle.

I just feel like I am always having to monitor my FIL's They are all adults. His sisters are 45 and 50 too, even more frustrating.

I am so sorry that you have to go through this. They should really be the ones pitching in together to get the SUV and not you.
