~*~My Final QOTD 10/11/09~*~

Hey girls...so I'm at my last question of the day, and I'm so happy I finally got my week! It's been fun!

So kind of as a branch of yesterdays question, we all were talking about why we're looking forward to just being Married already!!!! But, for me it will be my first time living without my parents...my question is a Hypothetical for those who don't live w/FH and a retrospect for those who have already moved in with FH:

When you move in/moved in with FH, what one area of being 'domestic' do you think you will need/needed work in? Cooking? Cleaning? etc. Or are you the epitome of domesticantion? LOL

For me, it's definitely the cleaning part! I am not dirty by any means, im quite neurotic actually! However, since I still live with my parents, I can get away with not cleaning my room when im realy busy, etc...and thats the only room im responsible for keeping clean!

and since I am already an awesome cook I'm realizing cleaning a whole household on a daily/weekly basis is going to be alot of getting used to for me!

We already live together and I still wish he would learn to stop making sock piles and put dirty clothes in the hamper not next to it or on top of it or on the chair near the hamper.

Oh I just realized you said me and I am perfect JK. I have to work on not leaving magazine piles and collections of cups everywhere. Those are two of my bad habits that drive FH bonkers.

definitely cooking. we have been living together a few years now and i am just starting to experiment with cooking a little more. i def want to get better at it

Cooking is my biggest drawback. I dont do it, and b/c I dont do it I dont know how to do it, and b/c I dont know how to cook, I dont LOL
So I really was hoping to start cooking, but as it turns out FH is an awesome cook, so I dont have to ever cook.
FH is very messy, so I brought some hominess and organization to the apt.
So I think instead of working on our issues, we just decided to compliment each other where the other one is lacking.
works for us great!

Im a fantatic about cleaning so I think I will be okay in that area....but cooking?? FORGET IT.

Being that I live at home, I am pretty spoiled that everything is made for me....NOT a good thing at ALL. I want to try to learn cooking food, but my parents like their 'traditional' greek meals and I hate it....I would love to try some nice recipes you see on TV or in a cookbook but they probably won't eat it, so I figure, whats the point in trying?

I def need to start learning the cooking aspect bc FH is a food FANATIC! Besides, I can't have my mom coming over and making my meals everynight. My sis was the same and once she moved out, she got the hang of it really quickly - hopefully I will be the same!

cleaning, i dont mind doing a big cleaning once and a while but i am so bad at jut cleaning up after myself like on a daily basis. plates, cups, piles of papers everywhere. it drives me crazy that i do this but im lazy i guess. i dont mind cooking though or food shopping, laundrys not terrible but i dont like folding. egh o well

When we first moved in together, I'd have to say laundry was (and still can be) my worst thing. I HATE folding and putting away laundry. With a passion. I don't mind doing the laundry, I just HATE putting it away. But I could never trust FH to do it. The one and only time he folded the laundry, I found out he actually had my mother do it!

CLEANING !!!! For sure!
FH is the neat one.

When we moved in together I needed to learn how to cook...I was so afraid of the kitchen but honesty I'm pretty good in there now

I have NO idea how to cook a chicken or a steak though haha...but I can make hamburgers and meatballs and stir fry and stuff like that.


One area I need to work on is cleanliness...we were doing really well in the beginning but then I had oral surgery and got sick and our place has been pretty much a disaster ever since

My biggest problem is cleaning. I might be considered 'messy,' but i'm not 'dirty.' I leave clothes laying around, I don't always vaccuum... yeah, I need to get better at this because FH is a clean FREAK and always makes fun of my non-cleaning skills.

I'm a good cook and baker though! At least I have that going for me...

I don't mind doing the laundry, I just HATE putting it away. But I could never trust FH to do it. The one and only time he folded the laundry, I found out he actually had my mother do it!

I totally agree Laura!! I really don't mind putting the clothes in the washer/dryer....but folding & putting away... can't stand it!!!!

OMG too funny....thats the thing i hate most...my room only LOOKS messy because of the piles of clean clothes that i HATE to put away!

when we first moved in together - cooking and cleaning. We both still hate to clean though

I'm very bad at cleaning...luckily FH is a neat freak...he does all of the housework except for laundry, which I do.

I throw everything everywhere, but I need to start working on it because it drives FH nuts!!!! When he comes home he's like, 'I just cleaned this! All you have to do is maintain it...I'm not even asking you to clean anything, just don't mess it up!'

I can't even cook...not at all. I can make toast and pasta and thats about it. Although he said he would cook (And of course everyone tells me - oh we need to teach you how to cook....w t f, whoever said the woman HAS to cook? )

I am probably the epitome of domesticated. I love to cook and clean and basically just be mother hen! If I had to improve on something it would be freaking out a little less when FH makes a mess!

I have been living on my own for a long time before FH and I moved in together. I'd say I was a poster child for domestication...LOL.

Extremely clean, great cook and like to bake.

haha am i conceited to say neither? i love cooking and i love cleaning--i think i have ocd its sick..

the ONLY chore that i HATE is laundry..and fh wont do it so instead of pushing it off on him, i now i have to do doubble

i think as myself as the perfect housewife i love cooking clening working anything that pleases my man and help my kids out ive always been like that
