My first dress fitting experience . . .

My first dress fitting experience . . .

I went for my first dress fitting the other night (Thursday) and unfortunately due to the chaos and aggravation I do not have any pictures. I was also picking up 3 of the bridesmaid dresses who wanted to have them altered elsewhere due to location. Well they take out the 3 dresses and one of the dresses is WRONG. Totally wrong dress, and one the girls never tried on (the girls are all wearing different dresses.) How they got the item number to the wrong dress written down is beyond me. The only thing I can think of is that the right dress and wrong dress are both 2 piece and both champagne as samples, so maybe previously both of those dresses had been tried on at the same time and the skirts got switched (and the woman might have taken the number off of the skirt?)? (This also makes sense now because when my BM tried this dress on the skirt fit differently (was not as a line) than the other Bill levkoff skirts, and this is what she liked about it.) Anyway it is the WRONG dress, so I am flipping out and they are trying to tell me that they are not SURE if anything can be done. HELLO MY WEDDING IS IN A MONTH- something WILL be done was my reply. So I ask to see the other dresses to make sure they are fine . . . well my MOH's dress came back wrong from the manufacturer! It is a 2 tone dress. The top part has a champagne bodice with taupe trim and the skirt was supposed to be taupe. It came back with a champagne skirt, champagne top with the taupe trim- wrong colored skirt. What I am thinking (since the order was written up correctly and since they think the way they will have to deal with this dress is to get the fabric from the company and make the skirt themselves) is that the dress could not BE ORDERED with the taupe skirt to begin with! I am fuming at this point - FLIPPING. (all the while the brdie before me is flipping because her wedding is on JUne 11 and she was there for her final fitting and her dress FELL OFF and she said she didn't even lose any weight and her dress came in in the wrong color and it is too llate to get the right color so they have to dye her veil which is NOT IN YET to match the dress.) So I go in for my first fitting. When I was originally measured I was wearing 4 inch heels and she measured my dress to be made to my exact height (hollow to hem) so she measured me so that I would be wearing 3 inch heels. Fine. MY dress in my 3 inch heels is about an INCH off the ground WITHOUT a slip. So I am now not wearing a slip since my dress has enough crinoline. But I can't do my first fitting without the right shoes. So there was a pair of shoes that I had loved but thought were too low and they just so happened to carry them at the shoe store next door. My mom and I are in a panick at this point so we decide my mom will go get the shoes. I had found them on the internet previously for 90 some odd dollars. I knew they would be more money, maybe 20 dollars more . . . My mom comes back with the sample shoes (which they let my mom have as long as she ordered my size which would be in in a week.) I look at how much she payed ONE HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS plus TAX! So they freakin shoes were 60 dollars more than I could have gotten them for. NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES! Just when the night couldn't get any worse, my corset from mary's comes up too high for my dress, so the seamstress marks it with a LEAD PENCIL to show where it has to me cut down to. And I decide when I put my hair up that I like how I look better with it down, so I have to go for another hair trial.

Then I called the store yesterday and find out that the woman at Bill Levkoff that handles the dress orders is not in until Monday and that she will have to call CHINA on Monday to see what they can do about the dresses.

AAGGHHHH!!!!

When I went to Mary's yesterday they were so pissed at how the woman marked up the corset (the use of a pencil and the marks she made- they were so wonderful about it and my corset will be fixed for pick-up on Friday.)

My 'Final' fitting is scheduled for June 23rd . . . I just can't belive this is . . . If anyone is interested in the dress place, FM me. Mind you the woman that I ordered the BM dresses from is not the same woman I have been working with- the woman I have been working with is wonderful- she just wasn't in the days that my BMs were able to come.
