when should I go? I have had my dress for forever and it is just sitting there. It is a simple dress, so nothing major hopefully will have to be done.
I was waiting to maybe lose a few lbs. but I should probably get on the ball, right?

I just had mine today! The dress fit like a glove...no alterations!

You should ask the salon where you bought it or the seamstress when they think you should go. They would probably have a better idea of how much time it takes and what needs to be done.

Re: My first fitting...
you can go whenever you want. if you plan on losing more weight, you may want to wait until a month before to go for your first fitting, otherwise they'll have to keep altering it as you start losing more weight.

Re: My first fitting...
I actually went last night for my first fitting. They are having to hem it and there are a lot of layers. Your dress looks pretty simple. It should be cheap and be finished pretty fast. But I would go get it done anyway just so they dont make you pay rush charges. They are holding my dress until april! I have an appointment April 18th to try it on again! It's so far away!

I would probably go soon. At least 8 weeks out... just be sure to have your shoes and undergarments ...

Re: My first fitting...
I had my first fitting two months before my wedding, which I thought was a little bit too early, but the place insisted!
