My first official 'meltdown'- And I need to vent to my '06ers- WITH UPDATE
Ok so my invites showed up yesterday. I ordered them online and I have been raving about this company all over LIW. The invite wording was printed incorrectly (even though i paid extra for them to send me an email line-by-line proof) and the band on this invite does not look at all like the picture. I asked the invite company to send me a sample of the band 2 times and they kept telling me they were out of stock. Now it shows up and its a completely different material than the invite. Plus its cut so poorly that on every single one is frayed with disgusting edges. Even FH thinks it looks terrible and cheesy. I am EMBARRASED to send these out in their current condition.
So I went to AC Moore and Michael's last night trying to find nice ribbon to tie around the invite as a substitute. But, I realized this morning how ticked off I am at the whole situation. Now I am gonna have to spend like another $60 for ribbon and basically my invites are now DIY because it is going to take a lot of time and energy for me to assemble the ribbon! I called the invitation company this morning to complain, but they have to call me back because they are 'investigating' what happend. I broke down crying at my desk this morning and now all my co-workers are trying to make me feel better. I am so frustrated with every detail of this wedding starting to fall apart! I can't handle it anymore!
UPDATE:
First of all, thank you for all your support! I love how you all can make me feel so much better in panic situations.
So here is what the resoloution is. The company is willing to reprint the invitations- they are admitting it is completely their error for the wording being misaligned. They are also crediting me for the $10 that I paid to see my proof since they did not print it as they confirmed. They also admit that there has been a problem with the band and that other people have called up to complain. They tried many solutions, but the best one we could agree on is that they are giving me a $25 credit back so that I can put it towards purchasing ribbon for my invitations. Which means I am gonna have to DIY....but I would rather this $25 credit than new bands, which they cannot print on any other type of paper. I am not 100% satisfied. I spent the whole morning fighting with this company and even though they admitted to being 100% at fault, they were only willing at the most to give me a credit for the invites ONLY, no credit for additional pieces and printing fees. I wonder how these are gonna turn out with the ribbon. I will keep you guys updated and show you the finished product. Thanks again for all your support!!! I love you all!
BTW- Does anyone know where I can get INEXPENSIVE but really nice satin ribbon?
