My first post on 'Parenting'

Hi ladies!

I can't believe I'm posting here - haven't started TTC yet, but I think we will in the next few months...

My question: Should I be taking any special vitamins in the months before we start trying? Are prenatals too much for someone who is NOT pregnant yet?

Thanks!

Months before you TTC you should make sure you are taking Folic Acid supplements- it helps prevent birth defects. You can take prenatals, many women do. I am pregnant and take the GNC prenatal vitamins.
You may also want to schedule a TTC appt with your doctor to make sure everything is A-okay. Also, make sure you have updated on your all of your vaccines and other health related issues.

Welcome Sara!

We're just getting ready to TTC ourselves, and I'm a regular lurker on this board.

I just bought multivitamins for woman to make sure I get the folic acid. I also take an additional calcium supplement. I had all intentions of buying prenatals, but I chickened out

Also if you're due for a dental checkup, make sure you get an appointment in before you TTC, just in case you need any dental work.
