What did you expect to be hard in this wedding planning process, and it turned out to be easiest?

And what did you expect to be easy, but it turned out hard?

For me:

Thought it would be hard, but easy:
- picking out my dress. It was the second one I tried on, and I kept coming back to it.
- picking a rehearsal hall. I think East Wind was the third we looked at
- deciding on photographer. I did a lot of research ahead of time, so actually only sat and met with one person, and we LOVE her
-deciding on our band

Thought would be easy, but is/was hard:
- picking out a veil
- finding shoes for day of (but I have found them)
- invitations (no problem picking them out, but we had major vendor problems and they went out late)
- I thought FH would be more involved, but he's not, but it's okay. It's hard, we live far from each other, we are both busy with work, etc.
- bridal shower - there was some drama among bridesmaids, and I am fairly annoyed at one of them right now, but it is what it is

hardest was dealing with our RSVPs...thought more people would wanna be there for us...
that was really the only thing i thought wasnt going to be such a big issue.

Picking out my dress was really easy like the easiest thing out of the entire wedding.

The hardest was dealing with the guestlist and the RSVP's.

I thought:

invitations

would be difficult, but they were super - easy!


Hardest part (which I didn't expect)

RSVPs
family drama.

What I thought would be hard but wasn't:

Picking out a dress and my other attire...I did try on a decent amount of dresses, but once I tried mine on I made the decision pretty quickly. I also picked my shoes really fast, and headpiece, and veil they just threw on me and was like this looks good, and I was like yeah, it does, I'll take it lol.

Picking an RH...I knew which one I wanted all along LOL, but we visited 3 just to make sure...had appointments with 5 but cancelled the other two.

The things I thought would be easy but weren't:

Picking a florist...they were all just so much more money than I thought they would be/willing to spend.

Picking a photographer...I knew which one I wanted, but since FH is a photographer himself he went absolutely nuts with research and drove me up the wall, I literally had to make spreadsheets and presentations for him We ended up booking who I wanted from day 1, but he really made me work for it.

Dealing with the shower...once the surprise got ruined, I got involved, and I wish I didn't, because it was super stressful.

Dealing with the rsvps...I thought people would have the common decency to respond, but guess I was mistaken!

Hard but was easy:

securing our RH & all our vendors for a wedding that was at that time in less than 8 months.

picking out my dress, BM's dresses & mens tuxes

picking out flowers

picking out design & flavor of cake

Easy but was hard:

Putting together all the details - making checklists for checklists....lol

RSVP's - this was a nightmare as some changed from yes to no & no to yes & back again - I was so done by the week of the wedding - I was just like - come, dont come - whatever...

Dealing w/my MOH (I didnt realize she was a jealous biotch) but hindsight is always 20/20, right?

seemed hard but was easy:

I guess I was blessed with polite guests because I was missing less than 10 RSVPs out of 174.


seemed easy but was hard:

figuring out limo details was annoying
choosing a wedding song
finding day-of shoes
finding a veil that worked for me -- I ordered 3 off ebay so far -- oops! :)


was hard and I KNEW IT WOULD BE:

figuring out a hair style I'd be happy with :)

thought the table seating & rsvp would be hard

but not bad at all, also shopping for a dress... i was soooo nervous.. but i miss it now!!

what ithought would be easy

my hair & makeup!!

really hard decisions for me!!! but couldn't been happier!!
