GREAT job!!

Did you use the foam tape? If so...where did you find it? I went to Michaels yesterday, and of course, the 16 y/o boys that work there...who do not even know how to spell Scrapbooking had NO clue what I was looking for!! It used to be in the front of the store!!
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...........

Re: My First Shaker Boxes

No Lisa-- I used the foam sqaures--yes it took forever!!!! but I did see an ebay auction for the tape and it seemed like a good deal--- but I dont know what the real cost is--
Can anyone help?
laura

I found this for $1.75 plus $1 for shipping
This auction is for Double Sided or Double stick foam tape!

Over 2 yards, 1/2' and foam padded.

Great for paper piecing to make shaker boxes, you can cut it into small pieces for the 3D look (same effect as the pop dots) can be used for many other project uses!

Re: My First Shaker Boxes

Michelle--wish I knew!!! I just wanted to learn HOW to make it-- even my DH was like what do you do with this

Some put in their scrapbooks-- I am using the santa one for a card so it is smaller

I am sure others will have ideas
If you check out Lifetimemoments gallery there are pics there as well

Re: My First Shaker Boxes

just to let you guys know...you have to go to the framing section of Michaels or Pearl and get mounting tape... it sells for about the same price that you guys posted...

ETA: Michelle...you can use them as embellishments or titles in your scrapbook...they are not as thick as you might think...only 1/8'

Re: My First Shaker Boxes

OK had to add to this---
So we are in Michaels today and yes I say we because DH offered to take me there!!! So we are milling about and he comes back and goes why not use foam on those shaking things instead of the tape!!!

So I buy a sheet of foam and guess what it is sooo much easier-- that way i dont have to deal with the beads hitting the edge of the mounting tape and sticking to it!!!!

Gotta love him!!!

laura...tell me more about the foam....

don't you love it when DH offers to go to MICHAELS!!!??

Re: My First Shaker Boxes

and we traveled ALL over to try and find a different Michaels as I live in the one I normally go to----

but with that being said-- you can buy the foam in large sheets-- so I cut the paper with the sizzix die and cut the foam in the same shape-- but another way to do it is cut the foam a little larger than whatever your shape/letter is--and then use the foam in between so that when you pour the beads in there is not sticky tape that it could stick to---

Is this making sense? So I still put the laminate and make sure there is a good seal, put the foam, then pour beads, then put glue on foam edges and put paper over it----

Let me know if that makes sense---

The foam sheet I bought was $.79 for a really large piece (more than 8X11--maybe 11X14 but seems even bigger than that)
