My FI's grandmother is 96 years old and has been steadly slipping away for a few years now. Last night she fell and broke a rib and also has pemonia (sp?). She's basically blind in one eye and going blind in the other, and mentally she's not all there as well. She's in the hospital - please pray for her.
My FI is sad, but more for his mother, as he was never incredibly close to his grandmother - they don't speak the same language and she's been slipping for awhile. His mother has been taking care of her for years and is very tired or it, but also loves her mother.
So my issues are -
I wanted to get the invites out this weekend, but his mother has been preoccupied and now this happened last night. She told me the night before that she would have them for me in a day or two, but now... And I don't know how many invites I need to conserve, her list is only supposed to be 50 people, but how many families/couples/singles? Should I procede and send out the invites on our side and send thiers out later?
I don't even know if the invitation issue is important, or if I'm a bad person for even thinking about asking her for them. But the wedding is on Memorial Day weekend and I didn't do Save the Dates.
Any thoughts?

Re: My FI's Grandmother is in the Hospital - issue
Sorry to hear that about FI's grandmother...Hope everything will be OK.
As for guestlist, is it something that FI and his father can work on? I think you should send the invites for your side and hopefully you can try to work on FI side this weekend.

Re: My FI's Grandmother is in the Hospital - issue
Sorry to hear!
I think if you are close with FI's mom you might want to suggest working with her to put the info together - also maybe offer to help out if she needs anything.
Otherwise I think the suggestion to have FI and his father get everything is also a great idea!
Personally, I would want to send everything out at the same time.
