MY Florist!
Any other brides working with Pedestals?I can't get them to call me back for anything!!!
Is anyone else having/ had this experience?
I'm feeling uneasy.

I was going to use them for my wedding.. but they were very uneasy to deal with and they gave me ridiculous attitude and quotes -- so i did not book w. them. but i did read wonderful reviews. so good luck!

i didnt book with them either because they told me i HAD to have ceremony flowers - which i was planning on doing anyway but didnt like them telling me i HAD to do something. Sorry they are not calling you back.

Who are you working with? We are working with Phil (one of the owners) and he is great at prompty returning calls.

at first, I was working with Phyllis but now- after speaking with one of the managers there about the fact that I wasn't getting my questions answered and I was being rushed off the phone when I called with questions about votives and vases for my centerpiece...she offered to intervene and said she would contact me.I never got a call back but, still decided to contact her myself.
This has been going on for a few days now where I call her...and she's busy.
I mean come on now- enough already!
I just want to plan out my centerpieces.

I think Robert is great. If someone is being rude like that, I'd ask for a manager.

I haven't hit step yet... but I'd be on the phone with whoever answered, and if they gave me the run around... I'd be in that office so fast FREAKING out.you have enough to worry about without having someone ignore and rush you.
if they aren't far from you get your butt in the car and raise some hell!

I just met with Robert thursday and he was great!
I went in with my mom and a friend who is getting married this august and is still checking out florists and he gave both of us a full appt even though we only had 1. Rob was soo nice.
Weird about the ceremony flowers too. My friend isn't using them and he said, 'no problem..whatever saves you $.'

Yeah, this is odd to me. I have had a 100% positive experience with them so far. Robert is amazing, took our vision to a place we never would have thought of and worked with our picky, picky tastes (i.e., NO FLORAL CPs!!! Which others didn't understand - 'Do you mean small ones?'
) We really appreciate everything about our experience with them so far.

I read something on the 2010 board about this a few days ago. One of the girls was trying to get in touch with them and they were ignoring her/not calling her back. Sorry!

Really...I loved his vision for my wedding. I will agree with you it is expensive, but you get what you pay for.
Girls if you are not familar with the setup at this florist they will select the designer to work with unless you make a request.

i met with phyllis too, and was horrified at how i was treated-even though i know a lot of people have great experiences, i was made to wait for twenty minutes after my appointment time (which to me is a big no-no), she was not interested at all in the ideas that i had brought with me, and there were like 6 brides there looking at their samples, and they all looked like they wanted to cry bc they were upset..this was just my experience though-i know people have had great things to say, and they're one of my rec. florists through my rhi hope everything works out!! maybe just try going there?

that was me that posted about not being able to reach them...they said they had were having voicemail problems last week which is why i hadn't heard back. Ever since they have been really good at responding.
We actually just booked with virgil today. We loved him and his work and I am confident he will do a great job!!

I booked with Pedestals and have not had any issues with them so far... they were very accommodating and gave me great prices.. maybe you need to switch whomever you are dealing with??

I used Pedestals, but didn't work with Phyllis, i worked with Nadia. She was great with returning phone calls and even gave me her email if i ever wanted to send her ideas or email her about anything. I always called though and got back the same day.

i worked with M*** and he wasnt too nice. he kept bragging about his celebrity style work and which star he worked with in the past... he was saying i must have this and i must have that.. then i told him that my room's ceiling is low so i dont think its right to have high cps.. but he insists on having high cps.then called him at the office needing to discuss more about the cps with him, i was put on hold for at least 15 min.. and then a lady got on the phone saying he is not available to talk bcs he was with a client -- which i totally understand. But shouldnt have someone told me from the beginning? Till the following day i did not get a phone call back, so i decided to call again.. and i apologized for calling while he was in btwn clients yesterday and he goes 'uh huh.. so what would u like now?' that totally annoyed me!! i told him that i didnt want anymore cps to save money.. then he goes.. ok you can just do your personal flowers, and since u're doing that he'll have to charge me an additional $200 delivery fee.. that blew me away!
so from there on, i didnt want to spend my hard work money on a vendor like that.. that ticked me off!

SO....About an hour after I posted this yesterday- I received a phonecall back.
I too had met with Nadia at the showcase and she was soooo sweet and wanted to take me on as a client because I told her how insecure I felt working with Phyllis.
Nadia called me back- 3X yesterday. Unfortunately I wasn't able to return the call untill after work at 5 when she was with a client.
Instead, I spoke with someone else and they told me I could ask for them or for Nadia. I made an appointment to go in again and re-do everything that was worked on with Phyllis next week.
I feel better about it but seriously- this whole planning process has taught me to speak up for myself.
I know that they do beautiful work and I am confident in their product, I just hope from here on in I can relax and finally finalize my flower arrangements!
