My friend went yesterday for her first fitting at Lillette's. She said it was horrible. The lady was so rude and impatient. For those who got their alterations done there, who was your seamstress and were you happy with them?

I agree they are horrible and rude...they were my first shop I had to go thru the BBB to have my $$$ 100% refunded to me...I would not recommend them to anyone....they are overpriced and cater to the unbeknowst brides who don't care what they're spending...

I had my bridesmaids dresses ordered from there, they were all very helpful and my girls all got measured there. They are often busy, but I think it is because they are so well known and good!
I would highly recommend them to anyone!
They have a great selection of wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses and all for the best prices I found anywhere!

Anyone get alterations here? If so, can you tell me your seamstress and if you liked their work.

Re: My friend had her first fitting at Lillette's
I got my dress from there so did my mother. She not only got her dress for my wedding there but she got her wedding gown there. What I can tell you is this ( I don't remember my seamstres name) The sales part was wonderful. I don't think my dress was overpriced at all. It was only 600.00. When I went for my alterations they were not so nice. I am and they made me feel that way. The bra that I get from mary's corsette didnt fit (lillette's told me) so I had to buy one from there. Whatever I did however they didnt have the bra in the right size cups where correct. The Lady told me to buy Bra extenders at any bra store this was a month before my wedding. I forgot all about. When I went for my Second fitting the woman took the bra for me to put on and i said 'O god I forgot to buy the bra extenders' She said 'Now what am I gonna do are you going to forget the wedding day to?' I looked at her with the nastiest look and said 'It's a month before my wedding the furthest thing from my mind is bra extenders for my fat bra' Then I made an apt. To pick up my dress PICK UP MY DRESS! Apperently my appt was for the thursday before not the thursday I thought. I went there the thursday before my saturday wedding to get my dress (let me also say that I called on Tues.to find out the balance and they told me that my dress would be ready on thursday after 11) I got there on Thursday and at first they can't find my dress. I started to freak a little but I knew it had to be there finally they come back with my dress and tell me its not s ready I had an appt. on last thursday to get it. I was like NO.... It was for today. My SIL was like and even so why didnt u call when she didnt show up. All that had to be done was to press it. I was like When I made that appt it was to pick it up. If it is a week later why isnt it done yet?????? I had to go on Friday to get it. I was so pi$$ed! I Just Blew it off it wasn't worth it to let those morans upset me.
A couple of days later I found out from my cousin who knows the owners that Lillettes owns the sales and the alterations are rented out by someone else. Wich $ucks cause Lillettes is getting bad slack for the other companies problems. They also screwed up my moms dress. But they fixed everything and both dresses looked perfect. Someone will always have a problem with a vendor. Mine might have been with lillettes and other people swear by them. Just like I swear by certian vendors that others don't you can't make everyone happy. In the long run they did their job and it looked perfect. Don't stress if you are using them!

I got my dress there (although i havent had a fitting for MY dress yet) my MOM got her dress there (i cant tell you HOW long ago) then in 1988 when my dad and step mom got marred, my step mom got her dress there and my sister and i got our dresses there for the wedding....Now my best friend, one if my BMs is getting all of her stuff from there and for her wedding they have been great....they even played along with us on some things that could have ruined the surprise for her shower!!
All in all, they have been great to us!! And their prices are the best around..

Re: My friend had her first fitting at Lillette's
i actually just went this weekend to get all the bm's dresses, mom's dress and the flower girl dress...i would have to say that i too was taken back by the seamstresses that were there...my sil, who is my moh and who will be 5mos pregnant at my wedding had to be brought down to them to see what they think of the dress i selected for her...mind you the dress is an empire dress, therefore, the best type of dress for pregnancy, aside from a maternity dress...when the sales girl asked them what they thought, all i got from 3 of the 4 seamstresses where a 'humph' and an exasperated look...no suggestions or anything...i would have accepted it if they told us that it can't be done, or whatever, but at least say something...only one lady advised us to order 3 sizes bigger to account for the pregnancy...
i did tell cathy, i think that was her name, that i did not appreciate the attitude from the seamstresses and she did say that they are all under a lot of stress because they have been doing a lot of alterations for maternities and a lot of the dresses are being re-created because of this...
no excuse, they just better take care of us when it is my bm's time for alterations, without any lip service

I went two weeks ago and the seamstress was wonderful!!! She was so patient and would not take a tip. She was Turkish, I believe her name was Bilgay.

My sister got her dress there and her BM's dresses there. The sales part was fine, but the seamstresses were sooo snotty. I wanted to slap them. I didnt get my dress there but I went for BM dresses there and they were really nice. I worked with Karen and Christine, both sweethearts. Now, do you have to get the dress altered by them or can you go somewhere else???

My friend has her dress there and 4 BM dresses there, including mine. She is calling today to speak with Cathy, the owner of Lillette's.

Re: My friend had her first fitting at Lillette's
I had my fitting today - everyone was very nice. There was one lady that seemed to be running the show; and she seemed to get a little short if you didn't have your undergarment or shoes; but I wouldnt think much of it, they do tell you that that you need to bring it beforehand...
I was a bit taken by surprise by the final price; I was not expecting an additional 90 dollars for them to alter the slip.
