My friend is totally confusing me...

My friend is totally confusing me...

I haven't seen her response card, and I know times are nuts with her moving and all and her school year just ended...so I email her and ask her where the response card is.

She emails and says 'I'm coming alone' and makes her usual self depricating comment about how maybe 'someday' she'll have a guy with her. She's so cute.

Then, literally 2 minutes later, she responds to the same email again and says 'it will be two people coming!!' I don't get it!! I'm so lost! how could it change in a matter of minutes?!?! I hate when people bring a guest just to bring a guest! I know I invited her with a guest but I knew she didn't have anyone she was dating- and one of our close friends is going alone so I figured...

ugh this is kind of annoying! I don't wanna bother her and call her cuz she's sooo busy right now...but how the heck do you interpret that?!! Literally 2 minutes later it changes to two guests?

UPDATE! Figured it out!!
NOW I understand her email!!!

it got broken up because she hit send before it was done!

Email 1:
sorry--I'm coming alone. Will send the card next week. I'm sorry to be a pain in the arse. Just put me in as 'one person'. Sigh....teehee, mahybe one day it w

Email 2, 2 minutes later:
it will be two people coming!! :)
So excited for you and Brett. Although I know you're pissed about hte Yankees lately. oh well.

Um... if you don't want them to bring a guest... don't invite so-and-so 'AND GUEST'.

It's not that I don't want her to bring a guest...but it just seems a little odd that literally 2 minutes she changes it from 1 person to 2.....you never know if someone is dating someone, so I just felt it customary to add the 'and guest.' It's just odd that 2 minutes later she adds a guest!!

She probably asked someone and figured she wasn't getting an answer, and happened to get an email saying 'yes I can come' in between your messages.

Maybe she called an escort service. That's the only way to get a date in minutes!

What bugs me most is when straight people bring same sex guests that the bride or groom knows, but didn't invite. I guess if you don't know anyone at the wedding and you don't have a 'date' maybe it makes sense, but when people just bring other friends who weren't invited - I think that's just rude.

Perhaps I didnt make myself clear. For those who I wrote 'and guest' I expect them to invite who ever they want... but there are some people who I invite who know EVERYONE at the wedding and insist on bringing a guest (and thats not the bad part) they cant decide who they want to bring....I have a friend who I invited with a guest and she goes through 'men' as often as she changes her panties (which Im hoping is daily)...and every time I see her she keeps telling me 'Oh Im bringing this guy...but maybe Ill bring this one...nah, maybe this one' and am like W T F! I guess my post was a little off topic..more of a vant then a reply....but thats what I meant by people being rude

Why invite them with a guest if you really don't want them to bring a guest? You want to look good, but hope they won't bring someone. We were honest with our single guests, we told them that if they wanted to bring someone because they didn't want to drive alone or something like that, that it was fine, please let us know, but it was a small wedding so we weren't going to put 'and guest' on their invites. Luckily we didn't have many single guests.

Oh - Okay! Sorry, I just could not understand why someone would invite 'and guest' if they did not really want that person to bring a guest...lol.

I just I got side tracked I actually invited 2 people with 'and guest' and whoever they bring is fine with me since they know absolutely no one at my wedding. But that one girl..she knows ALOT of the guest..I invited her with a guest to be nice but what bugs me is that shes going to invite some loser guy who just wants to sleep with her after my wedding and leave her the next day....and my mom is paying for his plate..thats what upsets me

Oh, that's funny!

Well, I hope she meets some amazing guy at your wedding. Did you invite any amazing single guys for her? Groomsman, perhaps?

We have this awesome guy I'm always thinking needs to hook up with one of my girlfriends (my two fabulous and single girlfriends)...but he is HELLA picky. he won't take a date because whatever girl he's been seeing- he doesn't want to give them the impression it's too serious by bringing them to a wedding. And besides, it would be long distance. He's Southern Jersey, they're Queens and Great Neck. Frickin' bummer.
