my friend's husband is a jerk
Yesterday I took the day off, very tired and had a comp day from the day after the blackout when I went to work so I took it. So 7:30am the phone rings. I didn't get it because I was sleeping. I got up later and heard the message. It was my friend's husband. They live in our apartment on the 1st floor. I had asked my friend if I could leave my laundry (clean) in her apt (it was in the car) for my FH to pick up that afternoon since it was heavy and I was going to drop my car off to get an oil change and didn't want the bag in the car then. So she was OK with it and told me she might not be home when FH comes home from work but would be home soonafter. So FH calls me at 4pm saying she's not home. I said no biggie, I'll call her and tell her to call you when she gets in. I call, she never called back. I got home at 9pm, knocked on door, no answer. I went to my apt and called her...no answer. Still - no biggie. We don't need the clothes right away. So when I listen to her husband's message, he says 'hi, just wanted to let you know that you left laundry here, just wondering when youre were going to pick it up, don't know if it's clean or dirty, ok thanks bye'.
OMG!!!!! First off - how gross to even think I would leave dirty laundry in someone else's apartment???? Good Lord, I'm not a skank, our laundrymat is only down the block, if that was the case I would bring it there not leave it with her. Secondly, she just had a baby 1 month ago. So when she was 8 and 9 months pregnant and had to do her laundry, and her husband was either working or sleeping (works at night), she called my FH to help her bring laundry down to laundrymat. He did it - no complaints - always said no problem helping her. I helped her a few times after baby was born especially when she had a breast infection - I called her Dr., I went and got the prescription for her for antibiotics....and this was even after her husband woke up (I didn't even know he was there until he came out of bedroom) and did he say 'don't worry mary I'll go to the drug store?' No. In fact he sat down with baby while my friend is crying in pain and told her it's probably natural to have a breast infection. WHOA! Mr. Sympathy, not!!! Needless to say, he's an a$$hole. So after I got this phone call I was ****ed. I mean for one lousy day he can't deal with a bad of laundry being at his house? And to think he thought it might be dirty laundry? So I called back and said 'for the record, it is clean laundry, I told Bridget this, and we came for it a few times last night but no one was home. if It's getting in your way, just leave it under the stairs and FH will get it when he comes in from work'. Then I called her on her cell phone (maybe that was a bit much) and said same thing. She called back. Turned out she stayed at her mom's with baby that night and she said she told her husband it was mine and that it was clean (why would they think it was dirty - that just bothers me the most). And why call at 7:30am when he knows we go to work early and tell us 'don't know if you know it's still here' of course we do moron, no one was home for us to get it!
So now I think she's mad at me but you know I don't care. No one in her family likes her husband anyway and I know that for a distinct fact. I've been told that. He's mouthed off to her mother at least twice that I know of. Even some friends of mine that know him don't like him. He's an arrogant jerk. I don't know what she sees in him, she's sweet as anything.
