We went to a party the other day for his communion. Last year he hit my DH for no reason & he was like 'Whoa, you don't hit people!' My friend disregarded it saying that he doesn't know the difference between playing or fighting. We were ****ed but we let it go. Then this weekend,we went to his party and the first thing he said to my DH was 'How's your chin from when I punched you' really nasty. DH was furious and so was I. I waited until after the party to tell her what he said. She said she would talk to her son. Her son told her that he said it nicely.I was there and that is a lie.She doesn't understand why he would be like this. The little kid used to like me so that is the only reason we can think of that he would be so fresh and disrespectful to my husband unless he's not the only one & he does this to others. Anyway, the problem is that we will no longer hang out when the kids are involved because we won't tolerate his behavior. My friend doesn't see it.She lets them do whatever they want.

The sad thing is that we don't hang out with her because of her one kid. He is so fresh and so disrespectful that we refuse to be around him. I feel like it will come between our friendship eventually.

I told my friend perhaps she should tell her son that me and DH helped set up everything for his party. We got there an hour earlier as a favor to my friend to make the decorations for his party.

Re: My friend's kid is so bad!
my fh niece is the same way. she is so disrespectful and she is only 4 years old. she will go up to fsil and just smack her in the face and throw stuff at her. and fsil laughs. once in a while she'll give her a swat on the butt. i tell her all the time you got to start disiplining(sp?) her now before it gets to late. you can't laugh at her when she hits you or talks back to you. she's going to have major problems with her when she gets older if she doesn't start teaching her right away that its wrong to hit and talk back.

Re: My friend's kid is so bad!
My FI's 2 little cousins are horrible. they are so bad and the parents dont do anything. We were at a family gathering and the 2 little ones started hitting FI with a screwdriver for no reason. FI told them to stop and they continued to do it, and he got really mad and told them again to stop it. They started crying and ran to his aunt and said that Brian yelled at them. Yea leaving out the part of why he yelled at them. He went up to his aunt and told her look they are being hurtful and disrespectful you need to control your kids.
Another time we had to babysit the little ones and i wanted to make a shirt up that said 'i survived 2 hours of watching mike and matt'
They are so bad its not even funny and his aunt does nothing about it.

Another time,my friend yelled at her younger son to stop throwing things at his brother. She said 'Do it again and you are coming out of the pool!' He did it again and she laughed saying 'he knows I'm not going to take him out of the pool.' GRRRR!!!! THAT'S WHY HER KIDS ARE SOOOOO BAD!!!! SHE DOESN'T DO ANYTHING.SHE DOESN'T FOLLOW THROUGH WITH ANY PUNISHMENT.

Some people just never see their children as doing anything wrong. I feel bad for the kids. They are going to have a tough time in the real world.

Re: My friend's kid is so bad!
I think my friend is going to have her hands full when her children get a little older (teenagers).
I do not have children...so maybe I cannot relate...but I wouldn't want to be around this kid...I would only hang out with your friend sans child...and tell her that too...

Re: My friend's kid is so bad!
I know but its going to be tough. This is a very good friend of mine and she has always invited me to her get-togethers.She is going to notice that we keep declining and making excuses.
you could also get up and walk to another part of the room if the kid comes near you...a polite greeting and then off to the adults...
I know this is hard, b/c you want to love all kids that belong to someone that you love...but there is no way that I would want to be involved in that behavior

Re: My friend's kid is so bad!
My DH already told me that he is fed up with that kid and he won't go to any get-togethers with him there. I don't blame him. I don't want to either.

Re: My friend's kid is so bad!
Parents who do not displine their child are not helping them AT ALL. They are teaching them that rude and disrepectful behavior is just fine and that there are no consiquences to their actions. Those are all untrue and just lead a child to problems in school and friendships. I cannot stand when parents close their eyes to their child's problem behavior. The first time he hit a grown up guest I would have put him in his room and no dessert either. Saying he doesn't know the difference between play and fighting is a problem. What kind of example is she setting? An excuse makes his behavior just fine?
Sue- next time hit the kid back and see if realizes the difference between play and hitting!

Re: My friend's kid is so bad!
I agree. She is allowing her child to behave badly and is not correcting him. If my kid did that,he would have been in trouble. I would have probably told him that he is to get out of the pool and wash up and no tv or something. Also,if my kid said something disrespectful to an adult,I would make them apologize to them so they realize they are wrong & they don't do that again.

Re: My friend's kid is so bad!
Ugh...my cousin's daughter is like that. She kkicks, hits, calls people stupid, and even says 'I hate you' when completely unprovoked. She's a terror and we avoid my cousin because of her, so I don't blame you.
