My grandmother passed away Jan 3 and in her will she left me her pearls and all her china including stemware and flatware. My dad had it shipped up to NY and my mom just called me to tell me that it has arrived. This is all her good china and now I dont have to register for China because I have hers.

That's beautiful!! I wish I had my great grandmother's china! She did leave me her pearls though which I'm trying to see if I can wear for my wedding.. I miss my nanna...

Sorry to hear about your Grandmother :( It's just a nice way to remember her!! Mine too is passing down all of her china. I'm very happy to be receiving this! It came from Japan a long time ago.

Thanks. I am so excited. I told Brian, its hers and years from now when we have company over and we're using the good china and I place hers on the table i can say yes this was my Bubbies china and she gave it to me.
It definatly is a great way to remember and cherish her. Her pearls I am wearing on my wedding day. She wont be here physically but I'll have with me through her pearls.

Sorry to hear about your Gram. I have 2 sets of my beloved Gram's china, so I didn't register for any. I did register for charger plates & serving pieces that complimented what I have to make it ours I also have one cracked teacup, but I'm working on locating a new one through an online replacement service. Enjoy your china!!!

My grandmother just gave me my Nana's china. Nana passed a couple years ago. This is my mom's mom's mom. My great grandmother. I was so happy when she told me!!
I wasn't going to register for fine china, so now I will have a set for when I need it. I will still register for a set of good everyday.
