My hair is Japanese Straightened...small PIC on page 2

and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't even begin to tell you how amazing my hair looks and feels. It is really straight but because I have such think hair I still have body. I even got an inch taken off and it still is so long...i guess because it is flatter. FI told me it looks like a Pantene commercial.

The best part....I can let my hair air dry or dry it for about 5-10 minutes and leave. This really has changed my life....I am no longer a slave to my hair.

Thanks for all the the help during the decision making process I couldnt be happier with the outcome.

I dont have any pics yet...I will take some this weekend and try to remember to post.

I got it done at Sei-Tomoko in the West Village and will definitley go back again. They area a Japanese hair salon and they use their own products. From what I hear they train a lot of the other salons.

It was very reasonable...I paid $300....I went to other salons on Long Island for quotes and received numbers of $800 and upwards for the same exact process.

chloegirl you did it! yay! glad it worked out just as you wanted!!!! how long did it take? you must've felt like you were in there forever since i heard it takes hours. im still thinking about it. my fear is that because my hair isn't so thick, that it wont look right on me.... im still thinking about it though! thanks for the update!

Im afriad that it will make my hair frizzy!! and i also just caleed maximus and they want like 500.00 and up... does it grow out? what about the roots? I so want this..

The process did not make my hair frizzy. I was in florida the day after i got it done and my hair was down with no frizz at all....and this florida in August.

I will need to get it done every 5-6 months. Your hair that gows at the root will be your natural hair so.... that is what will need to be straightened after the first visit.

It depends...you can...but I usally just deal with the growth and spend a little more time drying it. Its not that bad so I can usually wait.

That is awesome!!! I have been wanting to do that sooo bad. My sister is stylist and her salon wont even do it because I guess some people were suing. I have so much SHIT on my hair from previous color , bleach that I was told id be a frizz head. Is this true? Can I ask if you have alot of color on yoru hair? Id still like to do it regardless of what my sister says..I WANT STRAIGHT HAIR!!!!!

Wow! I want to do it also but my friend did it and when she air dries it its frizzy. Maybe they did it wrong. How curly was your hair and what is the name of the place and phone # you went to??? My hait is SUPER curly. I want to do it.

Did your ends come out OK? Some peple say their ends are fried after the process. I am looking into this process myself. I am also curious if your hair has been highlighted or processed.

I have NO color or highlights in my hair...but my hair had been previously straightened using an american relaxer.

My hair looks healthier than it ever has. My ends are fine..no damage...but i did need to take off an inch .... but i neeeded the haircut before the process anyway.

I had the process done last friday. I do need to blow dry it ...but only for about five minutes. I really have no frizz...if I didnt dry it, it just wouldnt be pin straight...maybe a slight wave and some extra body.

My question is how kinky was your hair before hand?
I have really curly, unruly, dry, frizzy latin hair! I'm afraid to try it cuz I think I'll end up paying too much money for something that would give me the same results that the cheap relaxers would.

My hair was really really curly. I have yucky curly hair that is dry with the frizz around each curl. I have been straightening it for years but I have extremely think kinky curly hair.....and my hair is silky and smooth.

You should go to a salon and have a consoltation...thats what I did. I left knowing that I would still need to blow dry it, but it would take 5-10 minutes. They will be able to tell you what you can expect.

I do know that the less color and chemicals in your hair the better it will come out.
