So here is what you girls have been waiting for..... I have narrowed down the halls to:
Carlyle on the Green and Glen Island Harbour Club
FH and I love both places and we are leaning more towards Glen Island. We are going to visit both places with our parents and then we will make our decision....
We may also MOVE UP THE WEDDING!!!! We are thinking of getting married in January or February
After visiting all these halls the past few days and going through so many emotions I was drained!!!! The first day we saw two halls, and were so disappointed with both, it was such a let down and I took it pretty bad. FH was good to me and told me not to worry that we will find the one...who would of thought that we would find TWO!!!!
I am so excited!!!! So now I need your girls advice.... what do you think of either place?!

Good luck narrowing it down. i haven't heard of either of these places but, post the topic on brides helping brides and do a search of both places and see what brides are saying so that you have a list of things to ask them when you go back

FH and I haven't really started looking it. I saw 3 places very quickly just so I could cross them off my list (I happened to be near them and stopped by). I would love Carlyle but I think it's a tad too far...

oman I dont know anything about either of the places!! Sorry but I AM SURE YOU CAN GET A REVIEW ON BOTH OF THEM on LIW if you do a search.!!!!! I would say go with the one where you feel most comfortable!!! Good luck!

I have worked at glen island and the food is prob the best I've ever had (and the amt they give you is crazy)... And of course the place is extremely beautiful! Never been to Carlye so I cant say anything about it
i know a gurl that is gettin married at glen island on a sat in feb 08 and is paying like 120pp (inc tax/grat) i believe... did you get similar prices?

Oh, you did not see the HS post, LOL. I went to Spellman too Mine was at Marina to, but the following years were at Glen Island. I graduated in 94.

we were all troublemakers, lol. a few people in my class are teachers and deans now. Marina was not that bad, but they could not use Glen Island anymore cause the years b4 you wrecked the place

So far, just from our first sit down it is around that price, but I am sure if we do decide to book with him and i bring the parents with us, they will all work on the numbers. Plus FH and I want some speciality stations, and I know that does cost extra.
Since you used to work there, I am sure the staff is GREAT!!! That is what FH and I are looking for a good/friendly/helpful staff!!!!!

Staff when i worked there (which was uh 5 yrs ago) was every attentive to guests needs... I rem one of my duties (I dunno if this is standard for RH's) was to notice whenever anyone was up from their chair to pick up their napkin and refold it... Now you know how detailed and specific they are

ive been to functions at glen island. Love the place. Didnt realize it was only 120 during off peak. Is that for evening? Go for it if it is that price!! Also, make them throw in the hot pretzels as ppl leave. Nice touch!

Yes it will be a Saturday evening. It will come out to more than that b/c I am going to need chair covers and also want some special stations during cocktail hour and I am sure I will be thinking of other requests.
I am torn though between Glen Island and Carlyle.... they are both offering so much. Both places will be greeting my guests with drinks. Carlyle is a little more pricey, but it is closer for all our family and friends. (No bridge to cross!)
