My hard drive on my pc at work fried yesterday. My pc locked up, so I rebooted it, and the computer wouldnt start up totally. It would freeze on the desktop but no Icons would come up.
The PC applications guy said my computer now makes an excellent Paper weight lol.
I got it back this morning, and he put a new hard drive in, and some more memory. The computer is really fast now, but that would be because I lost everything. This stinks....Im not very happy now. Scott

Doesn't your company back up files?
My boss accidentally deleted my file directory but the MIS dept was able to recover the prior days files so I only lost one day of work.

They have a back up file system, but the PC applications guy isnt sure if it worked, Great huh?

Someone on that chain doesn't know computers well. Everything users save should be on the network drives, and not local drives. Network drives are backed up on a nightly basis usually, so you don't lose work.
Fire those guys, and bring me in.

Actually I was wrong....I just spoke to him and he told me that the backup program didnt reinstall on my computer. He is going to come over and look at it in a little while.
