Im so mad right now I have to vent. I just switched to a new insurance company and my son is on the neutramitgen formula, which thankfully, my old insurnace company covered. My new insurane company denied the claim saying that they do not cover food. Insurance companies stink sometimes.

Resubmit the claim. Alot of times they deny it at first, but then will approve it. (My mom works for a pediatricians office and she said they do this all the time)

I work in health insurance. Appeal the claim with notes ( med records) from your Dr why its needed. We almost always approve it on appeal.

you have to call them back and say it is not a 'FOOD' Especially if it is a protein hydrolasate, they usually cover those, be persisitent and get a letter of medical necessity from your dr. if need be
