My Intro - Hi Everyone!!

Hi there ladies (& gents!),

Just wanted to introduce myself to the boards! We just recently got engaged and am excited to start this wedding planning process. I have been following along some of the posts for a couple of days and getting tons of great ideas. Everyone seems so supportive and helpful and it's nice to know that there are people out there willing to give advice & to listen to some venting when needed!

I have already checked out a couple of RH's with my fiance but I have fallen in love with The Inn at New Hyde Park. Sadly, it is much pricier than I thought it would be.

I'm trying to figure out what my next step should be. I've gotten some pricing on December 2012 (I love Christmas and am floored by the beautiful Christmas decor), but now I'm reading that this isn't really considered 'low season' and am second guessing our decision. Does anyone have any pricing between Jan-March 2013? FH and I are not stuck on any particular month, however we'd prefer a cooler season like fall or winter.

Thanks in advance for any help. This is such an overwhelming process and I'd appreciate any advice.

I dont have prices for that exact location, but we originally wanted November 2012.. when we went to check out RHs we found out that a Friday in November was $10 more pp than a Saturday night in March (on average). December was about 5-10 more pp than March as well. We really wanted fall, but we couldnt pass up the March prices. Good luck on your search!

The INN at New Hyde Park is sooooo beautiful!!!!!

Did you get pricing for Winter there? I'm curious to know what it is. I know for prime season it's up there...

What about a daytime or Thursday wedding?

I can tell you March prices for other places but the Inn is increadible!!

I'd say next step would be to figure out a tentative guest list and budget. This will give you an idea of where to start looking. The first question an RH will ask is how many ppl are you expecting, so if you have a little something prepared, it'll be so helpful in the long run. Good luck and have so much fun!!

Not bad at all! In the end it came down to them or The Royalton...but since I'm not going to be having a huge wedding The Royalton seemed to be a better fit for me...and I fell in love with it!

Jericho Terrace & Russo's on the Bay are decorated beautifully during winter (Christmas) season! Check them out!

Did you try the Watermill? They are reasonably priced and in the winter months they decorate so pretty! Even outside!
