My invites are out!

I wasn't planning on mailing the invites until next week, but they were all done & stamped up & I just got sick of looking at them. So, FH & I just got back from dropping them off at the post office! I was confused about the whole hand cancel thing, but I walked in put them on the counter & looked at the guy like 'Ummm.... hand cancel, please?' He smiled & took them & said that it was all taken care of. So that's it! My invitations are officially in the mail! I can't believe it & I can't wait to start getting RSVPs!

congrats! i am glad your post office was so nice about it - i am worried! and i think it's so funny that you were planning on waiting - my wedding is 2 weeks after yours and i want to send them out this weekend!!

I have the same wedding date as you!
I sent my first batch of invites out the week after Father's Day in June! They've been slow in coming back with responses though. But I needed to get them out so I could plan for our minimums at the RH! Oh well...good luck and enjoy the process!

p.s. what does 'hand cancel' mean??

I have no idea what hand cancel means though. I'm not having a big wedding, but I just dropped my in the mail box.

I test one out the other day and it was fine.

Instead of running them through a machine they are hand stamped. I'm pretty sure that they still go through the machine at the reciving PO though.
