Has this happened to anyone? I JUST got this for my birthday (Nov 29th) - I have about 537 songs on there, have been using it in my car - tonight I used it in the gym, stopped midsong to go home....
And now its stuck on the song - it says its locked which its not - the screen is lit, the song is displayed at the exact minute/second i paused it - and theres nothing I can do!!!
none of the buttons work - I cant turn it off!!!
what is going on?
I am so upset!

The good thing is that its still under warranty- but I think holding down the bottom of the circle and the center is sort of like a hardboot.
Or else wait till the battery dies.

It just happened to mine over the weekend. A friend went to the apple support page and it shows you how to restart your ipod. Its something like slide the hold button and then press select and another button at the same time. It took him like ten seconds to unfreeze it and its worked fine ever since. Its annoying but I think i was scrolling the buttons too fast and it just froze - for hours. I was just waiting for it to unfreeze but it doesn't. You have to go to the support page and get the method. It worked like a charm.

This happend to my 60 gig ipod. What the store told me is that an ipod is like a small computer and not really meant for running with where you're bouncing up and down or in the car where you can hit bumps. I know they advertise it that way so it's really annoying when it happens! Let the battery run out and then plug it back in and it should restart again.

Wow - thanks ladies! I was sure this post was going to get lost on the bottom of the page here and no one would answer me - I'm going to check out the apple support page now and see what I can do!

It turned off and then I turned it back on! Yay - now I can go and put more songs on!!!!

This happens to all Ipods. It happenes to mine alot. You have to hold the top and middle together till it turns off.

The weird thing is, I had my Ipod mini for years, and this never happened... I never even knew this could happen. DH had a regular Ipod and his nano, and my stepdaughter had has her mini - none of them ever froze!

i have the 30 gb and it froze on the day i got it last year. I couldn't get it to turn off so i had to wait for the battery to wear down, then recharge it. I haven't had problems since
