My June 16 Wedding
Ladies, I am back from my honeymoon and couldn't wait to tell you all about my great wedding day! I wound up having beautiful weather, even though the whole weekend was crummy. And as far as the day...everything was perfect. (Except for our tuxedo disaster from Men's Warehouse. I tried posting a message about it, but I can't for some reason...I inquired to LI Weddings as to why) Here is a breakdown of vendors:
Reception Hall: Thatched Cottage. Excellent from start to finish...everyone was raving about the food and the presentation. This place is definitely a hidden gem!! My maitre D' was phenomenal, and between him and the bridal attendant, we were not lacking for food or attention all night.
Officiant: Rev. April (Church of Ancient Ways). Caring, calm, creative...a wonderful person to work with all along. We are still getting compliments on her ceremony! Many people said her ceremony was 'one of a kind' and they never heard such a beautiful ceremony before. A truly beautiful person,
inside and out.
Flowers: Pedestals in Mineola. Excellent job...the groomsmen were even commenting on how pretty the flowers were! Punctual and professional, excellent to work with as well.
Dress: from Lynbrook Bridal on Sunrise Hwy Excellent, attentive, and professional staff. Very prompt alteration services...my dress was in and done within 1 week!
Photographer: Photos of the Heart very creative couple, professional, very talented, and calming. Very unobtrusive...and very quick! Our pics are already online: photosoftheheart.com. Go to Album #5 (last couple on the page) They are very
competent, and their love for what they do really shows in their work and attitude.
Tuxes: Men's Warehouse *warning* Ugh...what a disaster. This place does not know what it is doing AT ALL. They screwed up 3 tuxes ultimately, but even that came after causing grief and inconviencing almost every single member of my hubby's bridal party.
DJ/cocktail hr music/Video: Apple Entertainment We love our DJ...we have seen him many times before, we know him through our circle of friends, and I've already raved and recommended him prior to this. He blew me away with our entrance songs, and kept the party going all evening. He also did our ceremony music which went off without a problem ( I was worried that you might not be able to hear in a garden, but it was fine).
Our steel band was awesome...the perfect touch for an outdoor ceremony. The video was great...unobtrusive, yet was everywhere (I noticed). She started with us early in the morning when we were getting ready, and followed us throughout the day.
Limos: Showtime Limo and Park Town Car Limo Showtime Limo provided us with a 30 psgr SUV and 10 psgr...ontime, clean, stocked, courteous, and professional. Park Town Car Limo provided us with 2 limos to return home, and also provided
pick up and drop off service for our airport trip. Denise, who owns Park Town Car Limo, is wonderful and very accommodating. We had the same driver all 3 times! John, the driver, is excellent...we will be using him for future trips.
My day was perfect, all the planning was stressful, but after all the compliments, well worth it!! :) JOY
