my kleinfeld experience today UPDATE also went to bridal reflections

so i started my quest for the dress today. i decided to make the trip to kleinfeld bc i wanted to experience what it was like, even though i have read so so reviews.

when i got there i was welcomed by the check in lady. nice enough. we were a little early, but they took us in.

my 'helper' was judith and she was a doll. i brought lots pictures and she was so helpful in weeding out what would like beautiful and what would look 'not so nice!'

we both looked for dresses and once i found about 10 or so, i started to try them on. we pretty much figured that strapless a- line is the best for my figure and height (i am 4'11'', so needless to say no ball gowns for me!)

after about 3 dresses i found THE ONE!!!!

it is tomasina style #1246

now my question is, should i try to find it elsewhere? it is a little bit pricey!

That is a beautiful dress! Why don't you call around and get prices? It can't hurt!

Wow! That dress is so gorgeous! It wouldnt hurt you to look around. If you cant find it or even if you do and rather purchase it from klienfeld, the search still wont be useless....

I'm sure you can find a place that sells that dress for much less, not to mention the alteration fee they hit you with. Its a beautiful gown!!

I hear ya about no ball gowns Im 4'10 and half I would call around see if u can get prices on it why not. Im glad to hear u had a good experience.

did you check their website for store locations? then price with them.

You cold try also the internet ones, but You have to consider how much alteratins needs to be done.

JOANNA THAT IS A BEAUTIFUL DRESS!!!! as long as you know who makes the dress than try doing a search on their web site and see who else carries it. !!!! YAY!!! I'm so happy for you!

so i tried to find the tomasina dress after i went to kleinfeld. bridal reflections carries her so i tried the massapequa store.

roseann was my bridal assistant and she was AMAZING!! i have also heard so so reviews about bridal reflections, but i have to say that the service i received was first rate. they did not have the tomasina, but i tried on another dress and...I LOVED IT!!!

it is an amalia carrera.

now, i wanted to try both dresses on but they did not have tomasina, so they are calling her directly to get a sample so i can make up my mind!!

they were so awesome at bridal reflections, i was there for 2 hours and roseanne was so accomodating.

ahh now comes the dilema of choosing!!

They were great to me as well at BK both places treated me wonderfully.

Which Amalia Carrara? Was it the one with the design all over it? She has some beautiful dresses

call commack bridal center they beat anyones price and they are awesome.

there were 2 amalia's that i loved, but one waslike $4000 and that was just too much for me! it had beading all over and the skirt had rows of beading. it was exquisite. it wouldbe perfect if i were to be married in a castle!!!but i want something alittle less flashy, more simple. the other amalia was just that:simple, yet elegant with sophistication. it had similiar bead work, but the bottom of the skirt did not have any beading. i cant find the pix anywhere bc it just came out! and it was less expensive. roseanne will call me tomorrow to let me know when the tomasina will be in, so when i go bac to try it i will try to sneak in some pix!

The one you were talking about was I think about 3890 or something - it is 4400 at kleinfeld.

Her dresses are very pretty - I tried on a few that I really liked. Threetwenty is wearing one of her dresses -

If you like the tomasina dresses check out christos dresses - and priscilla of boston - they all have dresses with similar styles to what you like -

If you want I would check out saks - they brought out like 40 dresses for me - but they have like all of the tomisina dresses and I THINK they have the one you liked - I swear they brought it out to me - they also have a ton of christos dresses that are similar - they start at 1800 - and their service surpassed that of BR - I'm now trying to decide between a Christos at saks or a priscilla of Boston dress - and I CAN'T decide -

I sent you a FM earlier, do not know if you got it or not. Anyway, I tried on that exact same dress at Bridal Reflections in Massapequa. As a matter of fact, I think I was one of the first people to try it on because it just came into the store. You may want to check with them again or see if the Carle Place store has it.
