My last invite envelope... to guest or no guest?

I've been contemplating this for weeks...

My family (father, mother and 2 sisters) haven't spoken to me since Dec. and this one sister hasn't spoken to us for over a year... very long story for another place and time...

The question is.. do I invite this sister with a guest or not? She is currently living with her boyfriend. Her boyfriend is one of the reasons we aren't on speaking terms. Neither my FH or I really want him at the wedding. My FMIL says don't invite him, my aunt says 'you have to, in order to be considerate', my cousin says 'she's lucky to even be invited'


What would you do?

generally i would always say you should invite with guest,,, but if he is the rrot of the hostility between you are your sis and it will make you uncomfortable on YOUR wedding day, then I say don't. BUT... be prepared for your sister to decline because of it

I would invite, you are going to be so happy, they might not get on your nerves. Plus you are the bigger person. I'm trying here.

I would give them no more than five mins of my time at the wedding, they WILL NOT spoil your day.

i think this is the best advice.

but it's really up to you since only you know the true situation. If you feel like you just don't want this guy at your wedding and it would bother yuo, then don't invite him.

I just printed the invite and threw '& guest' on it...

Hopefully all will be well the day of the wedding. I'm sure if something starts there are safe guards to have someone removed from the wedding if necessary!

Honestly I really do hope they all RSVP 'No'
