I was about to book with Duet until my mom and I went to the appointment and saw several of their albums.
Some of the problems we noticed were
1- some of the pictures they touted as samples from actual prior bookings were photos that showed the bride and/or groom and guests not facing the camera (hello? why would I pay thousands of dollars for pictures of greenery and scenery? I want pictures of happy faces!)
2- the photographer took pictures with the bride and groom facing the light and the light was just off (there were shadows and it reflected too much on the sorroundings so the bride/.groom weren't the focus of the picture)...
3 - the lighting in at least 2 other sample weddings they covered showed pictures that were taken, once again, with the light facing the camera so you had trouble making out the faces of the bride and groom. (isn't that a major no on in photography 101, not to have the camera facing a major light source?!)
I don't know if this was common but thats my only reason why I didnt book with them. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about them, but I was quite surprised by some of their work they claimed was 'fantastic' when we really didn't agree with them...But that was just my experience, FWIW.
