My MIL is dying

She has ovarian cancer and things have been getting worse and worse. She was dancing and having a good time at our wedding in March, and now, 4 months later she is bed ridden and on an oxygen machine. It is so awful to see this happen to a parson. She is a very good, interesting and intelligent woman, I can’t imagine what she is feeling! This morning my DH older brother called from their parent’s apartment and told him he better get there. She has been in pain for some time, but it wasn’t out of control. Now she is in terrible pain. I hope they give her morphine or something! I didn’t wake up from the phone wringing but from DH getting dressed and openign drawers in the bedroom. I asked what’s wrong and he said: My mother is dying.

I wanted to go there with him, but he didn’t want me to, he said he will call me, and even though I wanted to stay home just in case he told me not to. And TOMORROW IS DH BIRTHDAY! What an awful memory it would be for the rest of his life! I am praying the doctors will be able to ease her pain!!!!!! I am also praying that nothing awful happens on his Birthday! GOD, I hope it’s not awful of me to think that, but that would be such a terrible thing to live with for my DH! Imaging if something like that happens on your Birthday! I am praying for the best is there is such a thing at this point! Thank you for reading this! I know it doesn’t make much sense!

I am sooooooo sorry to hear this. I have been there twice and I know how it feels. DH probably just needs his space and time with his mother, he knows that you are there for him no matter what. I will pray for your his mother and your family.

It is very difficult. I lost my Mom to liver cancer. It is a very hard thing to watch and know there is nothing you can do except be there for them.
