One suggestion though, maybe put a layering mat of paper underneath the invitation? Only to take up a little of the empty space between the edge of the invite and the crease. It still looks good like this, but if you wanted to add a little extra pop that could work too.
I was thinking the same thing, what color do you girls reccomend?

Maybe like a peal/ivory color in a metallic cardstock. Or a light blue.

I agree, the mat will look great! I decided to do the same thing, I think is a small touch that will go a long way.
I want to order the materials soon. I am using the Merlot pocket with a silver mat.

That will look great, in my mind I was picturing a bronzey brown metallic mat to match the raffia kind of.
