My mom

is nuts

on Thursday she bought her MOB for my wedding- well this weekend she was out shopping & she bought a second one. The shop for the first one wont let her cancel the order- so she's gonna keep both

1st one is celedon green
2nd one is navy blue

woman she works with says- wear one to the ceremony and one to the reception and my mom says- great idea

she asked me what I thought & I feel bad telling her no, my mom is heavier but she is losing a lot of weight & I know its exciting for her but 2 dresses

what would you do?

Does she have another event/wedding coming up she can wear the other one to? What about selling it? Don't let her do anything with the dress until right after your wedding just to make sure. FMIL just started this weekend. She bought one gown but isn't sure she wants to wear it lol. She'll have 4 by the time of our wedding.

actually back in the day that's what they did. I look at my parent's album and I am always like whoa, why is nonna (my grandmother) wearing two different dresses?

they wore one to the church and a more formal one to the reception. if it were me, I wouldn't care. It's a little odd these days but hey, it's nice to be different.

Do you think it would bother FH's mom??

Re: My mom

i wouldn't care that much - it gives her some extra added attention - but nothing will take away from you - so if it makes her feel special - to each his own

I think you should sit back and think about it I don't think its a big deal if she changes I had an aunt that did that for her daughters wedding

Does she really need a wardrobe change?? Tell her that in the pics - everyone is going to be like why is your mom dressed different?

Re: My mom

I have two dresses. If my mom would do it, i would tell her yes.

Re: My mom

Why not two dresses, if it makes her feel better, who cares? It certainly won't detract from you and maybe it gives her some extra confidence. I wouldn't say no personally.

IF it makes her happy, let her wear both!

Re: My mom

I would tell her to try them both on for you and wear the one that fits the best and looks best with the BMs,
unless you are changing dresses, then maybe but if not the MOB shouldnt either, JMO

Re: My mom

in all honesty, i would say only 1/2 of our guests showed up to the church and no one is going to be paying much attn to the MOB gown anyway.....if she wants to wear 2 gowns, then let her....it's not like she's going to wear this then maybe you'd have an issue....don't let this stuff bother you....i let a lof of this stuff get in the way of my wedding planning and it wasn't worth it
