my mom got me nervous

I invited 2 of my good friends from work to the wedding. So far one RSVPd yes for her & her boyfriend. The other already said she's coming, but I've yet to get her RSVP. Suddenly my mom brought up how they don't always follow thru with things. They were invited to this big Christmas Breakfast last year and had responded that they wanted to come, but couldn't afford it. They excepted the offer of work paying for their tickets, but then never showed. Also, one of them didn't come to our staff christmas party either (even after saying that she would be there), and they both showed up very late to our charity Polo Event that we were all supposed to be volunteering at. So suddenly, I got all nervous that they'll do it again (even tho maybe it's different since those were all kinda work related and my wedding isn't). I'm not TOO worried about the one friend who RSVPd because she's sooo excited about it and I even went dress shopping with her already, so i doubt SHE'LL miss it. But the other one, suddenly i'm not so sure about. What if she says yes and then never shows. I probably wouldn't even notice the night of, but I'd kill her later for making me pay for her and her boyfriends empty seats. One nasty call would be going out that following day..

eh, i hate that suddenly this is on my mind. Did anybody ever have that happen? People respond yes who don't show? What a waste of a very expensive plate

we had 5 people rsvp yes but never showed up, but we also had 3 people rsvp no and they showed up so we ended up paying for 2 extras people. Honestly there will be so much going on that night you wont even notice it, just enjoy the day and deal with the the crappy people later

as crappy as it is to RSVP yes and be a no-show, I think it's way more ballsy to RSVP no and then show up! what were people thinking?!

i'm gonna be soooo mad if that happens though, because i have a whole list of people i wish i could have invited. There's still a bunch of backups i would definitely put in somebody else's place if they just RSVP no. So to just not show is gonna make me crazy.

Like i said before though, i already know that i'm not gonna care at all the night of. But within those following days, there's no way I'm just gonna let it slide. There would definitely be some phone calls being made.

agreed! I don't know what I'd do in that situation Just weird.
