Ok... so here's the thing. I am terribly neurotic about everything, and need everything to be done right away.
My mother refuses to look for a dress, try one on, nothing of the sort til she looses weight. But the only problem is is that she refuses to stop eating all the garbage that she eats!
I am constantly finding her eating some type of pie or some type of fried nonsense, and I don't know what to say to her to make her realize that she isn't going to be able to get a new dress for the wedding in the size that I know that she wants to look for by the time the wedding comes around!
HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Re: My mom is driving me nuts!
I had a similiar situation with my MIL. She didn't look at dresses until a month before the wedding (and I'm like you - need to get things done early).
Anyway, it all worked out in the end. Don't worry you still have lots of time!

Re: My mom is driving me nuts!
Welcome to my life!!! My mom and my moh have done the same thing. My wedding is December 7th and my mom just got a dress a few weeks ago and my moh still does NOT have a dress because she is trying to fix her body and lose weight. I don't think that is going to happen in the next three weeks so I will have an undressed moh and a mother that doesn't fit into her unaltered dress at the rate we are going. It is very frustrating.

Re: My mom is driving me nuts!
My mom kept on going through the yo-yo diets, until she had her cholesterol checked, now she can't eat anything that has cholesterol, b/c hers was so bad, and so far, over the past few months she lost 2 sizes... She still hasn't started looking for the dress though, but more because she is waiting for the christmas sales.

Re: My mom is driving me nuts!
If it makes you feel any better, my MIL (DH stepmom really) bought her dress for the wedding the week before!!! It worked out fine in the end. I had a moment of panic initially, but then decided I was going to let her worry about how she looked!
She bought her dress in a department store, and in the end she looked very nice.

Re: My mom is driving me nuts!
LnP...I understand your concerns and frustrations with your Mom, and I'm sorry you are feeling this way. But, try to have patience with your Mom, and be thankful everyday that she's here with you and healthy.
For other brides, who may have gotten married without their Moms, or in JENHOS' case, her Mom is very ill, this dress thing is small stuff to be so stressed about right now. Maybe that is not what you want to hear, but that's my perspective. Your Mom will get a dress eventually. She just has to do it when it's right for her. Hang in there! Everything will workout fine.
