My mom the problem solver....lol!!!

My mom wants our Maltese (6lbs) to be the ring bearer. She wants to get her a little dress and everything. I actually love the idea, but not sure how the priest is going to react. FH says that it won't be allowed. So mom's solution is:

Don't tell the priest. Just put her down have my stepdad call her and she will just come. What can the priest do?

See this would work if my dog was a 'normal' dog, but she isn't. She screams, pees herself when she gets excited and does not always come to you. So we might have a screaming, pi**ing dog running all around the church.

Thought I would share, bored at work.

yeah... i would not recommend a dog that has issues like that to be in the church... i know its like well what can they do... but if i were you, i wouldnt want to find out 'what they can do' in that situation

i wouldnt risk it....the priest might get really mad and it could cause a total disruption in the ceremony.

I agree with this. And on top of that, they might fine you some insane amount. I know that if you throw rice at a church that doesn't allow it, you get fined for it - I can only imagine what will happen if you bring a dog in... haha

lol... thats funny... tell her that she is the one that will be smited by god when the dog craps on the alter! LOL

OMG, this is so funny....my parents have a Maltese too and I could totally see my mom suggesting this (she hasn't yet!). It's a cute idea but I wouldn't chance it. The church might get really mad and who knows what'll happen then!

you can call the church annonymously and tell them you're interested in having a wedding there but you want your dog as the ring bearer ... see how the church reacts ... then decide what you want to do :)

I didn't even think that churches allowed pets until my friend just got married and a guest brought her dog (which was WEIRD)!! But if your dog has issues, I might try to take pics beforehand but leave it at home.
