My mom so wants me to dance to Butterfly kisses by Bob Carlise..I gave it to my dad when I was 16.

Isnt this song played at almost every wedding.
I know it has special meaning but I dont want the guests to go..OH no not again

I would DEFINITELY not think that if I heard it at a wedding. It is a sweet, sentimental song....that's probably why it's so popular.

And if it has special meaning to you, I don't think you should even think twice about it!

I am doing good considering it a little over 4 weeks away...

I would definately use it if you want. I was going to use it as my father /daughter dance but the DJ reminded me that it is over a 7 minute song and that feels like FOREVER when you are dancing slow to it. So i changed it.

Me too...I love it and it makes me sad that we won't be using it because it describes me and dad to a tee (horses and all)...But my dad doesn't want the awkwardness of dancing so long.
ETA...I have never heard this played at a wedding

Use it if YOU want to .....(or if youd Dad really wants to) - But don't worry about the guests groaning !! - whatever ! too bad ! they can hit the bar while you dance w/ your dad !! it's only one song !!

Hey just a thought - I've heard that since it's such a long song, they sometimes shorten it (they being your dj or singer of your band) so that they exclude the sweet 16 part (I think). That way it shortens the song but all the important parts are in there (little girl and wedding part)....honestly you don't even notice it's missing....I MAY do this, not sure yet.

forgot to add: I think that although it's used a lot, it's such a great song - if you think about it, wind beneath my wings and all those other ones are used a lot too - it's just cause they're so good.
