so even though i dont have a dress picked,i have the exact shoes i want to wear. i plan on having a black w/ white polka dot sash on my dress, so i bought the cutest (and most comfortable) pair of black w/ white polka dot flats. my mother is having a fit telling me i cant wear them. how often do people even see your shoes? besides, they're what i want and they're prefect

if they are what you want them go for it, and if she really gives you a hard time maybe compromise and say during ceremony you wil wear traditional shoes and then for CH and receptioon wear your perfect shoes

Another bride did red and white polka dots (I can't remember her name) and they were adorable. I'm planning on having red shoes which people have been shocked by. First of all, no one sees your shoes (a lot of brides wear isotoner slippers on their wedding day for the comfort). Second of all, I really want to wear my wedding shoes again and I will never wear a pair of white heels again (others might, but I don't really like them and I would get them filthy ten seconds after I put them on).
Get what you want. No one will see them the day of your wedding and I think that it'll make an adorable touch for pictures. Plus, you can wear them again, all the time.

exactly, plus i'd like a picture of my shoes taken, especially because the tops are open and i have some pretty sweet tattoos on the top of each foot, frankenstein and bride, so i feel its a wedding must! lol
