My Mom's friend died this morning

I am trying to make her feel better. She is sooo devasted

This is soo bad my Mom just called and she is crying and she is so not a crier and I told her I will cook Christmas dinner and finish her shopping today and she won't let me. All she keeps saying is that she is so devasted. Should I just ambush the house and go there and start cooking or should I leave her be?

OMG - What a sucky time of year to die - was it sudden? are there kids? Can you do somehting for the kids to help?

I decided when dad died that I would prepare a meal - a good hearty one - for the family. We had so many people drop off fully cooked meals at home, and it was really welcome

It might help you take your mind off it too

Is your mom at home alone ? I would go over, and maybe keep her company while she prepares for tomorrow - she is probalby better off busy

I am sorry to hear of your familys loss. It sounds like your Mom could use your company. But you know her and will do what is right.

I am going to go in the shower and head over there slowly this way I can give her some time alone- which is how she is and then I will spend the rest of the day with her.

She has very young Grandchildren that will now always have to remember this one Christmas eve.

She and her family had just relocated to the Carolina's so they are bringing her back up here after the holidays for a service.

Jamie, I am so sorry to hear about your mom's friend. I'm glad that you're going over there to keep her company. Even if she says she doesn't want your help, I'm sure she can use it.
