I KNOW A LOT OF PEOPLE SAY 'YOU SHOULD BE LUCKY YOUR MOM IS STILL AROUND AND BLAH BLAH BLAH, BUT SHE IS DRIVING ME NUTS!!!!!! SHE JUST CALLED ME AT WORK TO ***** TO ME THAT I AM HAVING A MORNING WEDDING! 'NOBODY IS GONNA COME TO YOUR MORNING WEDDING, NOBODY WANTS TO GET UP THAT EARLY!' REMIND YOU SHE IS NOT PUTTING A PENNY INTO THIS! I KNOW SHE DOESN'T HAVE THE MONEY SO THAT DOESNT BOTHER ME BUT IT DOES BOTHER ME WHEN SHE CALLS ME AT WORK TO YELL AT ME ABOUT MY PLANNING PROCESS. THEN SHE GOES ON TO SAY HOW I AM SCARED OF MY FH! WHERE THE HELL IS SHE GETTING THAT FROM! SHE JUST CANT STAND THE FACT THAT I DONT LIVE WITH HER ANYMORE AND HOW SHE CANT RUN MY LIFE THE WAY SHE WANTS IT TO BE!

THEN I GOT THE FMIL CALLING ME THE OTHER NIGHT SAYING HOW SHE WISHES THERE WAS A WAY THAT WE CAN SEE IF WE CAN RENT A DRESS FOR THE FLOWER GIRL, (HER GRANDAUGHTER) IS SHE CRAZY! ITS NOT A TUX!!! REMIND YOU SHES NOT PUTTING A PENNY INTO THIS AT ALL EITHER AND SHE HAS THE NERVE TO ALWAYS TELL ME HOW SHE PD FOR HALF OF THE WEDDING FOR FH'S BROTHERS WEDDING 6 YRS AGO. I CANT TAKE THIS ANYMORE AND FH'S NO HELP EITHER, IM NOT LOOKING FOR HIM TO PUT HIS OWN MOTHER DOWN BUT CMON NOW RENT A DRESS!! THEN FMIL IS LIKE OH MAYBE I SHOULD PAY FOR THE DRESS FOR THE FLOWER GIRL, EXCUSE ME? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? WE ARE PUTTING AWAY 2000 DOLLARS A MONTH FOR THIS WEDDING, WE CANT AFFORD ANYMORE ON OUR PLATE THAN WE ALREADY HAVE!! I CANT STAND THESE PEOPLE SOMETIMES!!

I can only imagine how you are feeling now - But try not to let them get to you - I am dealing with BM's who cannot send me in measurements and a deposit. I think people fail to realize that no matter what -this is your day (and you FH also) - so what you all want is what you all should get!

rent a dress?? does she realize it would probably be just as much to rent a dress than to buy it..PLUS who would rent a flower girl dress??

Sorry they are driving you crazy. Mothers and fmil are the reason caller id was invented . And when they call at work just say your boss just walked in and you have to go.

Dont worry , think of the bigger picture you will marrying ur honey, dont have to deal with them after the wedding. it just a process that everyone goes through, and sure enough every one goes through the pain of family and future fmil, so all i can is bear it for a lil while, ihope everything turns out ok for you!!!!

My FMIL has yet to call me for ANYTHING, wedding related or not. His family only knows we're getting married in a church in june, and the hall is near home. Nothing else. They never asked

My mom only gave me crap over how much the photographer costs.... 'you're vain' she said... Hey, I'm not the one whose legally blind w/o glasses yet insists taking them off everytime a picture is taken!

When we booked the hall at a bargain price (which the hall later regreted becuase they're basically not profitting, but is honoring their committment ), I got it from her too 'don't be cheap, the guests won't appreciate it' (meanwhile we're have the best room in the hall, tons of food, and an ultra-premium bar).

Basically, you can't win.... just ignore them all... they'll realize on the big day that you were right all along

think of Field of Dreams...'People will come'. because if not, they won't come to mine either! im having an 11:30 am wedding too. those people who want to come will be there. dont u notice that we're 'usually' the calm ones then the mothers call and make us nuts??

yeah im thinking about purchasing two wedding gowns - one for MOB and one for FMIL - and let them just have 'their' wedding the way they want it - then i can go on my honeymoon earlier!!!

I'm so sorry that you have to deal with such nonsense. Honestly, at this point I would talk directly to the flower girls parents and if they can't afford a $50 dress (get something pretty at Macy's on a sale) then just forget the flower girl! People can be so dumb!
