My newest adventure

Well, FH and i thought long and hard about getting married in a church and when it came down to it, he just isn't that religious and didn't want it. He wanted to do everything at the RH and I'm ok with that. However, I needed to find a way to incorporate our spiritual beliefs into a beautiful ceremony since we are having a friend marry us. FH and I decided that to make it really personal; he and I were going to write the ENTIRE ceremony from start to finish, including our vows. I was really happy when I talked to him about it he liked the idea and was excited to start.

So I figured, it will probably take me a LONG time to write it, so I should probably start early. I went out and bought 'The Wedding Ceremony Planner' and it is a GREAT book! So helpful and has TONS of ideas. I'll keep you guys posted on my progress and how it is coming along.

good for you! we didn't want a church wedding either - we're getting married at the hall and I'm so glad I didn't given in to all the comments from family - it was a huge load off when we decided to do it this way! I did still want a catholic style ceremony so I'm having a priest marry us but I think it's awesome that you're doing it yourself!

We don't go to church, I haven't been to church in forever and neither has FH, so why bring in some stranger to marry us who doesn't know either one of us. I'm jealous of all the girls who are getting married by their long time priest or rabbi, we just don't have that connection with anyone and that made the decision a little bit easier for me...

exactly. i'd feel like a little bit of a hypocrite at this point getting married in a church... plus we have some handicapped people in my family so it is definitely better for them to do it all in one place.

Danielle I think that is so romantic of the two of you! It will be so personal and beautiful!

I will definitely share!!! It's a big book, so FH told me to read thru and highlight everything I like and then he'll go back over what I like and we'll narrow it down that way.

I hope it comes out as good as I am envisioning it!
