I knew it would only be a matter of time before we got the 'cell phone law'. Unlike NY where you need to drive with a ear piece, this was only a secondary offense in NJ and technically u couldnt be stopped for talking on the cell phone but they could however stop u for something else then slap u with a ticket for being on the cell.
Starting 2morrow its a $100 fine.
While I do drive with an earpiece I think drivers still get distracted by the cell phone (handsfree or not)....its a shame

I agree, a distraction is a distraction. what scares me even more is when people text and drive.

Its amazing to me how many people in NY completely disregard this law....I can't tell you how many people I see on the roads, talking on their cellphone.

I know iam guilty! I have an earpiece that i paid $70 for and it never works right! I have to get a new one!

I knowww I'm guilty too. I am going to make more of an effort to stay off the phone while driving, it is a really good law!
