After the ball dropped, I called my parents, like I did every year, for my entire life. Total father of the bride moment...
Heres the convo (get the kleenex ready)
Ring: MOM: HELLO??!!!! ME: Mom!!! Happy New Year Mom (weepy as she always is, thank you menopause): Happy New Year Sweetie!!! Wait, you dad needs to speak to you Dad: Hello Me: Happy New Year Daddy! Dad: Happy New Year Princess, [starts crying] THIS IS YOUR YEAR PRINCESS!!! I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!! Me,now balling, b/c i can't hear daddy cry without crying: WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH :crying: I love you daddy.
I literally cried for a 1/2 an hour after that. And proceeded to consume a whole bottle of champagne. FH thought it was pretty amusing...
Had to share. I thought it was super cute
