my pastor is leaving

after 26 years he has taken a new job with a lutheran church in north carolina....

im so sad because he has married everyone in FHs family and some friends.. he wont be doing our wedding!

Sorry...that totally stinks!! Is there another member of the church that your FH or the family has a relationship with that can do it?

Oh no! There's no way he can do it? One of my parish's favorite priests left a few years back yet everyone still has him come back to our church for weddings. He didn't go to another state though, just another church on LI. Good luck finding someone!

we are going to ask him if he would come back, but i dont know how the church would handle it... ughh hopefully they get a new pastor soon and we can form a relationship with him before the wedding...

I know how you feel! My pastor is leaving also! I was bummed, but he told me he will eithr try to come back and do the ceremony (unlikely b/c he was appointed Bishop) or he will help me find someone who will do the ceremony. Good luck & don't worry! You still have time to form a relationship with the new Pastor!
