Brian & I got engaged on January, this year. He called me at work earlier that day and informed me he had made dinner reservations that evening. I was totally caught off guard because he is not the 'reservation-making type.” He picked me up and we went to the Water'e Edge in LIC. The restaurant revolves and it was oh so romantic. The restaurant was absolutely beautiful. So, I got a little suspicious that he had something planned, but I didn't see a 'bulge' in his pocket in the shape of a ring box so I thought it was just another evening out. We actually finished our appetizers and entrees and he started talking about getting married 'sometime in the future.' This was a total set up!!! I turned away and looked and he was getting on his knee he simply said 'Will you be my wife?' and pulled the box out. I was soooo shocked. I cried for at least 30 minutes. It turns out that everyone knew except me. He called my parents a few days prior and got their blessing and his parents knew as well. It was a perfect proposal .

Re: My Perfect Proposal Story
We planned to go into the NYC for our two-year anniversary on Saturday, December 1, 2007. Ari kept telling me for a few weeks it was our special weekend- no cell phone, no computer, etc. He planned to take me somewhere to surprise me first near Grand Central Station. To my delight, I was treated to the Holiday Light Show in the grand hall of the station. We then browsed the Christmas shops and Ari next took me downstairs to the little known 'whispering walls' in the basement of the station where one person can talk to the other in the diagonal corner due the perfect acoustics. Ari said he loved me and that he was going to make one of my wishes come true once we got to Rockefeller Center.
We had talked about getting engaged and even looked for rings a few months before but I really thought I was perhaps going to get another one of my Build -A Bear stuffed friends. He asked me if I wanted to go in but the line was too long.
Next, we went into a jewelry store and browsed engagement rings once again. Obviously, after that little excursion all thoughts of getting engaged went out of my head.
We headed to Rockefeller Center and got right under the big old tree. It was as beautiful as ever this year. Ari found a fellow tree admirer to take a picture of us then he whispered something to her. Next thing I know, he is holding me and saying words that were magic to my ears. I remember saying 'YES' even before he took out the ring. I was ecstatic, on cloud nine. I had been asked to marry the man of my dreams, my best friend! What could be better....
