died and it won't turn on. I have TONS of pics saved on there that I never got the chance to upload to online albums or to back up on another hard drive.
I also lost my 8 paged wedding review which i was saving for when I get my proofs.
UGH. FH thinks the files are actually okay, he just has to figure out how to get my computer to turn on.

ohhhhhhh i feel so bad!! That happened to me a few months ago! I had TONS of pics on there from different weddings and vacations and i NEVER backed them up. I lost so much...SOOO sorry for you!! I hope you can recover your stuff

Your FH is right, its really unlikely that it is a hard drive problem.
Its either the motherboard or the power supply. Power supply is usually easy to replace the motherboard can be a pain depending how old the model is if it is a known brand.
Just pull out the Hard Drive and hook it up to another computer if he knows how you can get all the files ... or take it to any computer geek they should be able to get your files.

I can relate!!! My computer went today as well!!! And I lost stuff I was working on for the wedding. Guess today isn't a good computer day! I hope you get your pictures!!
